As an Indiana native, I'm stuck in the middle. I've always had an affinity for both teams, but I've never been a fan of any sports team.
Just look at what it costs to take just one kid or a family to a game...it's ridiculous IMO...And the only reason teams can afford to pay such high contract salaries...is because the fans/consumers pay for it...if just the fans etc. would refuse to purchase tickets AND refuse to support the products that generate the TV revenue...things would change in a hurry...!
BTW...I'm pulling for the Cubs because I admire Joe Maddon....by far the best manager in MLB....!
I don't think any of the Professional Sports Players are paid enough.
Don't know what it costs nowadays. My guess would be $50-$100 per person for regular game? Heard on the news Cubs tickets on the aftermarket are going for $6,000 per ticket ... ludicrous
I just want the Cubs to win...
So their fans can SHUT UP ALREADY!

Well one thing is for certain, none of them will ever get one thin dime of my money. I'd rather do something myself than sit on a couch and watch someone else do something and call that a life. It's kinda like watching someone else have sex.
Funny thing I worked with Fox Sports for a little bit, they gave me 1st class transportation to the game, put me up in a nice hotel, gave me an all access pass for the game including down on the field during the game, locker room access etc. and I didn't give a flip. I thought it was pretty funny how people wanted to get their picture taken in front of Madden's bus and stuff like that. All pretty silly, it's a kids game fer pity sake. I did the short lived umpire cam thing where I put a wireless camera on the umpire's hat bill. In Europe I put them on the quarterbacks helmets too. After awhile, I lost interest in it and told Fox not to call me, I'd call them.
As usual, another sour post from the resident sourpuss.
It depends on your point-of-view. Do pro athletes making 100X more than a teacher, policeman or nurse contribute 100X more to society? Or is it a matter of supply and demand, athletes are worth more because the supply of people who can do what they do is low and the demand to see them is high?
