First tractor. Ordering chains. Pretty sure I have R4s just want to confirm before spending $900. Says R-4 on the side of the tire

I don't understand why the tread is broken at each lug. Any one speculate on that cause.

Yep. A bit unusual tread pattern. But R-4 none the less. :)

Not pimping these guys, but I've bought chains from them and were very satisfied with quality and service. Several members here on TBN can confirm that.

TireChain.com is Where to Buy Tire Chains | Best Tire Chains

After doing a bunch of reading on here, that is where I ordered from

Don't know. Picked it up used a few months ago

Here's two examples of what I know as a "normal" R-4. The one on the left are Titans. Can't remember what the ones on the right are.

Yep. You might want to read the thread on grooving R4s before you order the chains. That's what I'm doing. About a hundred bucks for the tool and little of my time could help save not only some money but my asphalt too. I'm not too sure I can even fit chains without wheel spacers. I assume you're getting chains to deal with the snow.

Grooved the rears on my L4400. No difference on snow. Slight difference on dry hard packed dirt.

Here's a pic of the track on dirt.
