On most models you can replace the hydraulic filter and only the oil in the filter and maybe a quart or so will drain out.
It is interesting that some dealers suggest very little for the 50 hour, and some dealers replace all fluids and all filters. In reality, it is model specific. Most Mitsu's require engine oil and filter, front axle fluid replaced and HST/hydraulic filters replaced. They leave the hydraulic oil in until a later service, and fuel and air filters are on an as needed basis. Then of course greasing things. It's also smart to check loader bolts, lug nuts, radiator, etc. $300-$350 for this sort of service is not unusual depending on if the air filter and/or fuel filter needed changed.
And if you have it hauled, it gets really expensive. You can easily justify the cost of a trailer if you own a pickup already. Over a few years of hauling for service (if you do not do your own service) you can pay for a portion of a trailer, and then you have the trailer for many other things.
Well speaking from actual experence on my 1538 gear tractor most of the oil drains out when you remove the hydraulic filter. I pulled some plugs on the rear axle to get the rest of of the oil out, just a little bit measured in quarts out but most of the gallons of oil came out when the filter was removed. BTW There were no magnets or strainers that I could find in the hydraulics on this machine, just the one filter almost buried in the backhoe subframe. Difficult but not impossible to remove and replace. Just enough room to get a filter wrench on it to loosen the filter. This tractor is just not easy to service with the possible exception of the first fuel filter.
