Boy, last work day of the week! I'm ready for this 4 day weekend!

Good morning all, 27 this morning going to 52 and 50%chance of showers tonight, 30% thanksgiving day. Got the back yard graded where I dug the trench for the electric lines and planted grass seed. Hopefully we will get some rain and get it growing. Did the last mowing on the yard too but will have to chop up a few leaves from time to time. Today is a great day! 18 years ago my bride and I said I do! When we got married I had dark brow hair and beard, that has changed a little.:)

Don, Glad I live in the city, since we moved here we have been changing things so I din't have to weed eat at all. Now if I could just find some self pruning bushes.

Eric, I make porridge every morning in the rice steamer. (It has an oatmeal setting) 1 1/2 cups of rolled oats and 2 1/2 cups of water. Comes out kinda like a moist bread but covered with blended fruit it is good.

Have a great day. Ed

23 going to 52.

Middle son and just-proposed-to-this-week fiancée arrived last night for Thanksgiving visit. Of course, they brought their boxer to play with Coco. I roasted some special coffee to celebrate this morning...since I was asleep when they arrived and had champagne with my wife. I fell asleep early after getting up at 2am to drive south for a deer hunt yesterday.

Mostly, hope that hand is doing okay today.

Ed, Happy Anniversary! My wife and I celebrate ours on Friday.

I had to buy some rough cut 1x8s to finish siding my barn addition...only needed 7 since I was able to reuse most of the old siding. Went to the same lumber company in Montpelier that I bought the original lumber about 28 years ago...nothing changed...same guy behind the counter. Also bought some rough cut 1x6s that I will rip to make the remaining battens I need. Drove my tractor under the new addition the other day to see if it fit :). Felt good under there, out of the wind.

Couldn't have said it any better.

For those are traveling during the holiday be safe enjoy.

Enjoy the day all.

Good morning all. 31 going to 52 today in a slight warming trend, three 70's in forecast I see, that has changed for the warmer and I see some needed rain in the forecast too.

Billy, congrats and wonderful news. Mostly, did you come in a little hot or just slip on wet driveway? Hope you are fully fixed up soon.
I'm sure it was because of your tires...not the operator. Maybe time to get those summer treads off and put the all seasons on...;)

Did several oil changes, more to do today. This is when one can appreciate some thought given to engine design, so that one can actually get to the oil drain plug.
Changed the oil in the leaf blower to synthetic, will be interesting to see if it starts any easier on these cold mornings. This might be spark plug day also. Will likely start with the Echos; they all take the same plug and I buy the plugs cheaply by the dozen. And I never gap them...my bad, but it never seems to make a difference. ??
I particularly protest against the B&S engines whose air cleaner is held on by a flat head screw that strips and takes twenty turns to come out. Doesn't make it very motivating
to check the air filter, and on a leaf blower, it gets gunked pretty quickly. So does the engine on my Gravely pulling the leaf blower; which is why I stock spares. Coming in from blowing leaves in dry weather means a complete air blast to the equipment and a straight walk from the garage to the shower for me.

It'll work fine until I can make a permanent piece for it, or find a small wheel to mount there.

My Dad has the same type door on his tractor shed. When you install the small wheel tack a pic, I may need to modify Dad's door to a door of less resistance.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 61* with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 65* with sun shine (Longview, TX). Have to drive threw a weather front today. Some rain expected. Yesterday was a good day for traveling.
HAPPY Anniversary Mr and Mrs ED.
Good Morning All.

Ed, I had a nice wall in the front of our property consisting of steel post, cedar post, old rusted barbed wire, mesquite, cedar, youpon, and cactus and various scrub trees. But then then the County decided to help me and whipped it all out making a very pretty front fence line. They saved me about two years of work IF I wanted a pretty front fence line. My wife liked it cleared. The only problem was that now it needs maintenance or it looks neglected, before it just looked "natural". When I would see someone weed eating their front fence line I would say I'm never going to be doing that - never say never.

A thunder shower woke me up at 4 A.M. 55˚ dark.

No weed eating yesterday, I was playing with my new SE phone. installing the TBN app, The Fire Department pager app, and pairing with my hearing aid. Now that my operating system is current I can install a lot of apps that would not load before because the Iphone4 was no longer supported with OS updates.

Next I will be looking for a weather radar app, I know some of you had suggestions before but they would not load in the iphone4 (they needed at least a 8.0 operating system).
Now I can load any app. Anyone have a favorite app on weather radar or other kinds of app you use?

Along with the special on the phone ($399 now $240) they had a case $39 now just $9 and a recharging battery $59 now just $9. What great deals!

2nd cup of coffee started, wood stove going. Off to home depot soon, then back to work on the laundry room. Also need a small job done at the shop. Lunch with my neighbor, might take the snowblowers out and get them started....

Have a good one

Don, I'm a big fan of the intellicast app on my phone and their website. Also have AccuWeather on the phone, came on it and has a nice widget. I have WeatherBug on the Kindle, and like it, too.

44 this morning and headed to 58 today. Catching a break in the rain for a few hours then it starts back up later today.

Think I'll spend some time working on the building. Put some door knobs and lock on yesterday.

Drew. Interesting article. I just finished sowing ryegrass and have asthma. It's one of my favorite grasses for hay and grazing.

Don. The Intellicast app is no longer supported on iPhone. I had Intellicast and it had me download an app called Storm. It's run by weather underground. Also have AccuWeather. As well as NOAA radars. But use the Storm one the most.

I use one from the local TV station KRCR. Their regular news app includes the features of the stripped down weather app also, but I'm not much for news "I get the news I need on the weather report" Both are available in the app store. My favorite weather site is Weather Underground, and I really should check to see if "there's an app for that".

I used an OtterBox Defender case on the 4S and that phone still looks brand new, even after falling off a motorcycle seat at speed a couple of times (don't ask) and I think being run over by a car. So it was a no-brainer to get the same case for the SE, especially since I'm not paying for an insurance policy. The SE also has pretty good battery life, and I could probably go a couple of days without recharging with "normal" use. Screening videos really eats the battery though.

Glad you got a good deal, and I think you'll really like the SE for the slightly larger screen, TouchID, and snappier speed. And if you get LTE cell coverage, you'll really notice the improvement on line as well.

Good Morning! 46F @ 7:15AM. Chance of a shower or two during the morning, followed by partly cloudy skies this afternoon. High 48F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

Pretty good rain last night as I was going to bed, but strangely not much accumulation (0.07"). And only another 0.04" in the post midnight wee hours. Sometimes I think that the new weather station isn't picking up all the rain it should.

Hope your hand feels better soon, Mostly. Bicycles and slick asphalt don't mix too well, as evidenced by the big scar on my chin.

Congrats on your son's engagement, Wng!

No luck fishing the new Ethernet cable yesterday; the vacuum couldn't get a good enough seal to create much of a pull on a string, and the elbows I used in the conduit wouldn't pass a fish tape. So it looks like I'll need to do a little digging to get past the elbows, then take the conduit apart and patch it back together. Still better than digging a whole new trench. But I need a few days of dry weather first for things to dry out, and it doesn't look like that's going to happen very soon.

Used the time saved to get the new security cam running on my old SecuritySpy software on both the laptop and iPhone, much better than the software available from the camera's maker. Still need to open up the firewall and set up dynamic DNS to view the images when away from home, but found a great tutorial for doing so and will do that today. It's really nice just being able to plug the camera into a power plug and get an image, instead of having to run ethernet cable to it like my outside cams. Probably will get a couple more to cover the rest of the house.

Happy Hump Day!

I have 4 weather apps, I like them all OK, as for radar almost all will give you the whole country, Weather Bug's tends to be a little harsh, too much contrast, even turned down, but I like the info format.
Congrats to the soon to be wed and those like us, that have been married forever!
Cold this morning 27, low 50's later. At least the wind is better.

64°F and .28 inches rain last 24 hours.

Safe travels to all venturing forth over the holiday.

Be safe
