Girret, what brand is that winch. I know the owner of Hudson who sells uniforest. Do you feel it is good for firewood etc? And skid plate on your tractor?

Its an Igland 4501 Winch, the same thing as a Norse 450, the only difference is the paint. I think its great, I use it for my firewood and twitching out Poplar trees to sell to the paper mill.

No skid plate, but it sure would be nice... I wonder if there is one available for a 2555.

Girret, how much would that be? Did you get it around there? I thought the uniforest on the site cost about 4000$. I made a sub frame like my backhoe and welded a plate on that. It goes right under the front axle. Just ahead of the front axle I made a hinge where the plate hinges upward to two plates I have permanently bolted to the front bumper. I it's on and off in a minute.

Sweet tractor. How long does it take to mount the loader?
It takes about two minutes to mount the loader. I was pretty nervous the first time I did it solo, I recorded a video when the dealer showed me, but I had the lens cover on. I didn't look through the viewfinder, I wanted to watch the tech directly. So I totally didn't realize I had a blank screen, there's audio though.
There are a lot of videos online which helped and now it's a breeze.

Which 3rd function did you use for the grapple?

I don't have a 3rd function yet, so I'm using my remote valve. It makes things a little slower and a 3rd function would be very nice, I bought my tractor and all my implements this year and paid cash for all of it... So I need to save up for a bit before I dish out another $1000 for a 3rd function kit.

When I do make the leap I think I'll go with one from Everything Attachments. From what I've read they seem like a good aftermarket choice.

I got mine from Reed Supply in St Johnsbury, VT. there was a sale going on and I got the Ingland 4501, 3 slided, 3 chokers, 165 ft of 3/8 cable for $2400. I did drive there and picked it up myself. I know he is still selling them because he still has an add on Craigs list, looks like the price has changed, but Kevin is a really nice guy to do business with. TRACTOR WINCH IGLAND 451

I also got my FrostBite grapple from him, I added the rock bar for $60, and he only charged me $100 to deliver it to my farm and he added the fork extensions for free.

That's awesome tractor. That cutter has to be a 7 footer?

Brian

Thx Brian, we looked at the 7fter but it was another 1k$ so we went with the 6ft and a slip clutch setup.
