I ordered a 1/2" Earthquake XT a month ago ($129 coupon) and its still on backorder.
I've always admired that little inverter stick machine although I've never used it. 80amps out of a lunch box is really going to be useful for small projects. I don't think ShieldArc would choose one to rebuild the Tacoma Narrows bridges but for sheet metal and 1/8" or so it should be great. And, for those who are not familiar with it, it truly is the size and weight of a lunch box. The next closest thing in size is probably the Miller Maxstar which gives you twice the power but also four times the weight and ten times the price. I had one of the Maxstars and used it quite often at 80amps or less. Keep us posted on how you do learning with it.
Didn't know about the one in Manchvegas! We have an office there but I'd usually stop in Salem. Probably go to Tractor Supply in Hooksett more often, though.Mine defaults to Auburn, Me. If I enter my town it gives me a choice of 2 stores in Maine, one in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and one in Manchester. Littleton isn't an option. Weird how it shows up for you but not me.

That's good to read because I need some and was wondering about their quality.
I see you are in Upstate New York, so what is your "really cold" temperature? I'm down in Mississippi and people here think "really cold" means refrigerator temps.
I thought you were talking about relieving yourself when you said 'haveta' and suddenly got concerned about one particular extremity! I take that pleasure whenever I can but we don't see 10degF temps here.I try not to work outside [even in our barn] when the outside temps are 10 degrees F or less :cold:, but I'm pretty good til then.
...and sometimes emergencies [or urgencies] do come up, so if I haveta, I haveta. :tragedy:
But I try not to haveta... :frosty:

:confused2: Too funny!
My house isn't that far away, and I'm very attached to that particular tool, so I'mnot taking any chances with it getting brittle in the cold.
