Idiots and winter driving

I think the further you go south the worse they drive on snow.. for obvious reasons. .

Last Monday in Montreal. 1" of snow.

Local news tonight 3 dead and 11 injured on I-96 crash lansing michigan.It seems that folks need to relearn every year how to drive in chitty snow conditions.

A co-worker of mine was near that area - a whiteout. Sad for the families that lost a loved one.

Bunch of years back, going to Florida to visit we encountered minor snow event en route and as Quebecers we were to maneuver any which way we wanted around and in between all the southern drivers.
Seems the believed that the more power the better while we pretended we had eggs under the gas and walked by all of them.
We snaked and steered all around them while the just burned rubber (and melted snow)

Yes, thats the secret. Do everything slower and with less suddeness.. lane changes, curves etc. You are probably so used to it it is like second nature. I know by the end of winter I drive better in snow than the first few... you do get out of practice if you don't drive in it enough.

I drive about 90 miles a day in some crappy weather.. a good quality tire is essential also.

You think its bad up there.. Ohio drivers are the WORST! I think the further you go south the worse they drive on snow.. for obvious reasons. My son lives in TN and they get a snow once in a blue moon. He said dad you wouldn't believe how bad people drive in snow down here.

Moved to TN three years ago from Chicago suburb...drivers in TN are some of the worst even in good conditions. In snow they either go 10 mph or 60. I love all the good ole boys, in their jacked-up pickups with mud tires, flying off the roads when they need to stop...at least you can see their Confederate flags above the snowbanks :duh:

Who needs snow???
The biggest problem down here is NO LAW ENFORCEMENT!
I just moved from a 25 mph dead end road and could have made $1000. a day with a radar gun! (and that county just passed a 1/2 cent tax for law enforcement)
Throw in speeding, passing illegally, tailgating every where else!
I spent 2 winters in Germany and they easily drive 70 mph (about 120 KM) on snow pack Autobahn with little problems!

Who needs snow??? The biggest problem down here is NO LAW ENFORCEMENT! I just moved from a 25 mph dead end road and could have made $1000. a day with a radar gun! (and that county just passed a 1/2 cent tax for law enforcement) Throw in speeding, passing illegally, tailgating every where else! I spent 2 winters in Germany and they easily drive 70 mph (about 120 KM) on snow pack Autobahn with little problems!

I guess you always drove 25 mph down it. I hate ridiculously low speed limits.

Second that lol, 3-5 inches of snow people drive like it's a dry summer day in a hurry, if it rains people drive 50mph under the speed limit in Ohio lol. I think it's hilarious, I Test the roads a lot when in snow, turned a few cars into sleds on snow drifts but have yet to fully lose control and end up in a ditch lol. First and second snow you pass people in the ditch all the time.

I drive in Columbus everyday and I can conclude people just fail at driving on a nice day all the time, seen cars upside down, on there side and all kinds of stuff when it's 80 degrees outside on a dry day, perfect driving conditions. If it snows, cars in the ditch left and right. If it rains nothing lol seems more serious accidents I see are on beautiful days in Ohio.

Are you the guy who calls the law every time someone looks like there speeding?

I'm on the other side of that, I'm usually the one getting the law called on, the best is a loud motorcycle on a quiet day lol, I have been know to crack a bike or two open now and again. I am mindful and feel horrible at night though, during the day it's a free for all on noise.

It's amazing how many people waste law enforcements time on dumb calls like noise complaints ext. quads on the roads, or whatever don't ask how I know that lol.
