Here is my ATTEMPT
at putting this back on track. I find that improper use of headlights (i.e. not having them on or only having DTRs on) is really a problem in my commute to work. I cannot tell you how many times I have been in a hard snow or rain and driven up on someone who doesn't have any rear tale lights on at all because they are relying only in their DTR Lights. People need to be aware of their lighting and know their vehicles better.
The other thing I see is people running on balogna rine tires because they are too cheap or broke to replace them. This will turn even a Subaru into a sled and it happens all the time. I can tell by watching a car pull away from a traffic light if they have crap tires or not.
While on the subject of tires.. do not rely soley on what the guy at the tire store tells you.. do your research on Tirerack.com and other sites. All tires are not created equal when it comes to all season or snow.
These are two variables that are easily controlled by even an idiot that would help reduce snow related accidents.
