I figure gravity. But I didn't get a clear view of the latch mechanism. It appears you lower the 3pt, taking pressure off the mechanical trip mechanism, trip it, then lift the 3pt to dump??

So, it looks like it trips some way? How?

A bucket locks up by gravity. Or by a spring added if the operator is not enough skilled.

Yes, and it's nothing new. Most of usual transport box'es or 3 pt hitch buckets are locking up in the same way.

Yep. Just didn't see it clearly in the video. I think what was lacking was the tractor operator's actual action to trip the bucket. But maybe I just missed it.

I don't want to load you by the issues, but if you might spend some time, I would kindly invite you to visit the other videos of my channel, where you'll really find an answer, concerning how the bucket locking system really works.

Hey, btw, this is a thread of sixdogs... about his beautiful M6800!

Just to make it clear. There is a hook welded on a bucket and a handle with a cam in the bucket holder. When a bucket goes down, a handle is lifted up by a hook and then falls down under gravity (or spring). A hook and a handle cam comes into engagement - bucket is locked. To unlock it you just need to lift a handle for a while and to move 3 pt lifting arms upwards. Bucket locking/unlocking system is operated by a cable.
