The land I'm on came with a neglected 3910 that had been used sparingly to mow for the last 10 years and unmaintained. The only maintenance was checking the oil and coolant, likely for the last 20+ years given the exterior fading of the filters.
I want to get it to the point where it is a reliable second tractor. It starts and runs the PTO though there is a small fuel leak (after the shutoff under the tank)
So I'm replacing filters: air, engine oil, power steering, hydraulic and fuel. It has been getting some bad fuel so might need to replace that last one a couple times.
Fan belt, get a couple spares.
Battery drains when off so get a master shutoff.
Tires are shot from sitting outside for 40 years but still hold air for now. (tubes)
Front axle is missing bolts, fixable.
Have to find that fuel leak or it'll combust someday.
What am I missing on this list? I'll be changing fluids too though might skip the 6gal of hydraulic fluid if it looks okay. Is there anything that'll kill the algae in the fuel system? (do the treatments work?)
The rubber grommets around the shifters are gone so water has been getting in. Not sure how to replace those as search gives me the whole plate or dodgy sites.
Radiator has had plain water for a time so not clean.
