Dogs and neighbors.

Have to agree with comments by Bird and Shaneard; "Keep your dog on your property. Problems solved." "That's the only reasonable solution."
It is your duty and responsibility to keep your dog on your property.
You are the author of your own problem, not that the neighbors kids help but the onus is on you to keep your dog on your own property.

That's just it, 1. they have a dog, but they cannot play with him because he is mean. 2. my dog stayed home until they called her over multiple times. Why should I punish my dog by keeping her penned up for his kids starting the issue. I have never had to keep a dog penned or chained where I live until now, which I expected with the big dog since he was a stray when we picked him up, but my little dog never left the property until they started the issue. I guess what makes me the maddest is calling her over, then popping her with a pellet gun when they are tired of her. We have had some other issues with the same neighbors such as shooting in unsafe directions (toward my house with small caliber and shot gun pellets falling on my vehicles) His dog on my land trying to fight with my dog and growling at my wife and other neighbors, etc.

Back to your question though, you have to keep your dog on your property. If you do that, problem solved. Your neighbor's dog or other issues are no reason to leave your dog roam, regardless of who encouraged it. Can't you put a fence collar on it like your large dog? How is keeping it on your property punishment?

Sorry, but you don't have a leg to stand on if your dog is off your property and causing problems. Same with them. Keep your dogs confined.

Missouri

Leash Laws
Missouri does not have a statewide leash law. However, many municipalities require the restraint and supervision of dogs and other animals. AND even though many communities or counties in Missouri do not have leash laws, there is an 殿dequate control law in Missouri. -- 578.012 RSMo (2000). Section 578.005 defines adequate control as requiring an owner to reasonably restrain or govern an animal so that it does not injure itself, another animal, a person or a property.

This means that if an animal is running loose and gets shot, hit by a car, attacks another animal, or chases children or livestock, for instance, then the owner may be criminally liable. It also does not mean the animal has to be off its own property for this to take effect. Shoot the neighbors kids! Problem solved. Kidding of course! The others are right.......keep your dogs on your property.

I own a fairly large lot, with lots of woods surrounding the backside. One neighbor, is not someone who I consider stable, so my dog is outside when I am.

I don't need the trouble, no matter the circumstance.

On the 20 acres I have lived on for the past 27 years I've had a dozen dogs. I've never had one that randomly left the property. Every dog I've had has been taught the property boundary and only breaches that boundary if I'm with it. Dogs generally are very smart and can easily be taught. I've not saw a dog in violation of rules where it was the dog's fault. It's always been the owner's fault. An example is a dog deemed "mean".

I mean she's an active dog, the wireless like I have for the big dog is only a 100ft perimeter max, which is fine for him since most of the time he just sleeps under the porch. She likes to hunt my entire property. **** she doesn't even go over to my folks place that joins up to mine. She just like to hunt the tree lines around the perimeter of my land until called elsewhere.
