Hopefully you can get this balancing act worked out. If you can, you'll be surprised what your 2wd tractor will do. For decades farmers used 2wd with FEL to do all their loader work.

I have an MX5100 and often use implements that weigh 800, 1050 and 1200lbs. For me, either 1050 or 1200 lbs is all that tractor would want. For my tractor, 2,000 lbs would be way too much.

My box, total weight including concrete is just approximately 500 lbs and balances nicely on my B series. Welded a receiver hitch at the bottom and as others have suggested mounted PVC for holstering rakes and or shovels

Have you weighed the box? I calculated the volume of that B8160 box and it would hold about 650# worth of concrete or 500# of sand (the 500# number is inline with Kubota's rating for sand). Then add another 100# for the weight of the box itself. So you'd be at 600# for sand or 750# for concrete, minus any loss due to your PVC tubes.

I am planning to weld a receiver too. Looking to do it internally to tie into the pins and top collar, and have the receiver poke out the back.

Bought 15 bags of 80lb quickcrete and a quart of Kubota Orange this morning going to start there and see how it ends.

If you have a rock pile, mix a little and throw rocks in, then mix a little more and throw more rocks in. Saves concrete.

I live in the coastal plain so no rocks at all but I do have some busted block and brick now that you mention it.

My 2 cents, If you plan to leave the counter weight box outside. Don't put PVC pipes in unless you drill out the bottom. Mine filled with rain water... same goes with space at the top, you'll have a puddle in there.

Yeah I'm defiantly going to drill some weep holes right at the concrete level when I'm satisfied with the weight although I don't keep much of my stuff outdoors.

Here it is with 13 bags of 80lb mix in it I won't be able to test it out until I feel confident it's cured enough to hold itself up and I'm not anticipating being able to move it until the LA1065 comes in.

I put scrap brake disk/drums in the bottom of my old 60 gallon air compressor that got a leak. Bottom 1/3rd or just up to the toplink was filled with cement to lock the 3pt parts in better & cover the scrap. The rest was filled with dirty sand.
