Snow Blade Snow Plow: What kind? Any good?

/ Snow Plow: What kind? Any good? #11
Thanks. I will take a close look at the cutting edge. I think the bottom of the loader arms are about 6" off the ground with the plate level.

Do y'all think I need the foil? I bought shoes but I'm not all sure I need them?

The snow foil is for road speeds, you won't need it and sometimes it will help lift the plow when stacking snow. I run shoe's but set them level with the cutting edge and leave them there until worn out. This way it at least double's the wear surface contacting the ground rather than just the edge alone.

Luke - a thought. Before you purchase a new cutting edge/blade for that VERY NICE plow - check this out. Check out the bolt locations on the current blade. The blade may be reversible and by reversing it you might get an all new cutting edge that extends down full depth.

Good point but (correct me if I'm wrong) having shoes will make the blade much 'pickier' about the tilt angle (it will have to be completely level)

Thanks! I will look at that. :drink:

That plow looks to be a looong way out in front of the tractor. I'd be careful of the torsional forces on the loader arms when plowing. If you pile it too high, hit something hard on one end, etc., You can do some serious damage to your loader.

Yes it will Luke, and if your only doing your drive and a neighbor here & there, wear is not an issue.
