Ok,Thought he would have explained all the functions to ya. Every tractor is different. Your FX is different than my YM even though both are yanmar. Hope you get it all worked out

Have you placed weight on the 3-point? The 3-point hitch is gravity down and hydraulic lift. Without weight on the arms, they will not drop. There is no downforce provided by the system; lift force only.

Even with no weight it still should drop.

Not if it has sat unused and has rust, grit, grime, etc. providing enough friction to hold it. Shame on the dealer for not servicing/PDI the tractor or at least going over every thing.

I think I bought it from a wrong place. It looks really nice so I got carried away. He doesn't pick-up phone, when he does, asks me to just come down to the shop because he doesn't want to answer anything on the phone. I will grease it tomorrow and see if that makes any difference.

Not usually. Mine will drop without any weight. Guess yours is somehow stuck. Make sure the stop knob is wide open or it will never fall
