Hello Andrew

I bought the 1533 hst last year and plan on buying the backhoe this coming spring. How do you like the backhoe? I've read a number of links about how the remotes were run for the backhoe improperly. Can you tell me how Mahindra installed yours and if you are satisfied? Finally what size bucket did you purchase? Thanks for your help.

I elected to wait 4 weeks for a tractor straight from the assembly line as opposed to one on the lot. Backhoe came factory installed with the power beyond kit. Nothing against the dealer as they are outstanding, respectable, and have never treated me wrong (hence the reason to buy again). I elected for the 16 inch bucket as we live in a large sandbox- very easy digging. I got the tractor in the late fall and really only used the backhoe for about 10 hours prior to the ground freezing. I cleared a 15 by 50 area as an extension to our lawn in a few hours. Had about 20 soft maple stumps (largest being about 10 inch diameter) to pull- I completed this with minimal effort. It is surprising the power these little hoes have. I have all sorts of projects lined up for spring as we thaw out- One reason I chose the 2538 over the 15 series is the backhoe had its own seat---some have had good luck with the swivel seats- some have not. Not being my experience. If you are looking for a backhoe for smaller projects around the homestead- I do not feel you will be disappointed. If you are- then maybe a small excavator should/would have been a better option- just my 2 sense- good luck!

Chains on front only? Don't expect the back to do much?

Works awesome. Front plow=front chains. Rear blade=rear chains. I assume if I ever had the need I'd get some for the rear. Occasionally I lock the rear diff- but not often. This photo was in about 14-16" of snow.

I think most just go with rear chains cuz that's what they've seen. My dealer said buy the fronts and come back if you need the rears. Haven't been back and the dealer actually saved me hundreds of dollars and rears are a real PTIB because of weight etc.

Backhoes and loaders are usually installed at either the distributor or a good dealer may also do it. All that comes form the factories is the basic tractor. Even the tires are installed at distribution.

Great video! I remember watching this on youtube back in Spring of 2016. I should have liked it then, and finally did now! Great machine and cutter setup. My 2538 HST handles a 6' Med Duty cutter nicely as well, although I may have to move a bit slower over that rougher stuff like you have.

Thanx. I believe Mahindra even put my video on their tweeter site back then. I just couldnt remember where I posted and didnt. I was going through some old videos and thinking of what we are gonna do new and different this year for our customers and for our farm.

You're gonna have to pick another name for your Beast.:thumbdown: Big RED Beast has been my tractor's name since 2007. It was even in the Mahindra blog.............Brandi, Booger, and the Big RED Beast.

Wait, your's can be the Big Red Beast, cause mine is the Big RED Beast!:thumbsup:

Ok Ok LOL I guess since ur a Texas girl i will i will respect ur wishes. From now one i will just call her Big Red (And yes my tractor is a girl) Sweet as pie but will hurt you if you treat her wrong.
