Holy Mackrel.. must have been one ugly sweater! Who on here wouldn't rip some @ if someone tried to put an ugly Christmas sweater on you! Ha Ha..

That is sad because the dog is probably dead by now for some idiot owners trying to be cute. Your real bad until the pit takes exception to you being a moron.

I'm not a fan of PBs but I'm also not a fan of the people who get them and call them "scarface" (really you call your PIT scarface.. .idiot) and then wonder why they put scars on their face!

Again blame the owner, dogs should never be forced to wear any type of clothing. They are dogs!!!

I'd hurt someone if I were forced to wear a sweater too, lol.

That's a rough one watching a loved one lose there marbles like that. And just the decline in the past couple months has been rough. He had only seen gypsy once when she was two months old. She's 15 months old now. Wife and I were a little nervous taking her in to see him. We didn't have a dog sitter this trip, so she went with us. And she can get rambunctious sometimes when she gets excited.
But she was just as calm as she could be. Went right up to him and laid her head in his lap for some scratches. And man did he light up

Beautiful shepherd! I want one, oh wait, I've got one. 😀

Ours knows when one of us is sick. She will come close and gently comfort the sickie. I had another GSD owner tell us she wasn't feeling well. Her shepherd became so concerned that she wound up calling the doctor. Doc heard the symptoms and called for an ambulance. Supposedly she was about to have a stroke.
Don't know if that is true but it is a good story.

With most it is a macho thing'

Years ago I crossed paths with a frail old lady with a pit in a pink tutu. Dog was jumping on me wanting attention. She got mad because I hesitated because it was a pit. She bullied me into petting that dog until she was ready to move on. My read on her was she had the dog to intimidat people.

I live in a rural / suburban area which means neighborhoods with acre plus lots. Every day I walk my dog on leash about two miles thorough the neighborhood streets. It is customary for the lazy people to just open the door, let their dog out to poop in the neighbor's yard, then let it back in. About once a week, I pass as Spot is let out, but quickly decides it is more fun to charge and bark at me and my dog than poop in the neighbor's yard. The lazy people used to pretend that they did not see what was going on until I started carrying a oak shovel handle as a "walking stick". Now they rush out to collar Spot before he has a 1 1/2" diameter depression in his cranium.

It is funny how that stick improved their eyesight and hearing.

Well sure, that is half the point of having a mean azz dog. It does your dirty work for you and you can just act like the dog is the bad actor or blame the person it bites for not doing something or other.

I've heard of dogs being able to detect strokes and seizures as well.

Gypsy makes a really good nurse made when we are sick. A few weeks ago my wife and I developed head and chest colds. Was having issues with waking up with coughing fits. When I would have one, I would feel my wife roll over and touch my shoulder. After the third time this happened I heard a groan that sounded like gypsy and not my wife. That's when I pulled my hand out of the covers and checked to see who was touching my shoulder. Gypsy had crawled into bed with us and had her head on my shoulder. Mentioned it to my wife the next morning and she said gypsy was doing the same with her as well :) Both of us didn't want to disturb the other, so we each had made the decision to let her stay there instead of making her get off the bed.
