I think all of us who suggested seat time were being sincere and suggested that because over the long term that has made the biggest difference for us. Nothing wrong with a visual indicator either I have one but I watch the top flat on the bucket in most cases.

that works ok if you have flat top....neither of my tractors do.

I agree that practice makes perfect. If you're not perfect a bucket level indicator helps until you are perfect. Here are pics of mine.

Yep, airbiscuit has the same type that I do. Couldn't find any good pics of mine.

As to the friendly bantering, those of us with indicators are not the ones suggesting hours of use to become effective, regardless of tractor brand. :D

One of the best indicators I've seen is a piece of steel about 6" long welded on the top of the bucket parallel to the bottom.

With a torpedo level strapped to it! :)

That would be better, but it wouldn't survive long.

Whether it would survive or not it would be tough to read anyway.

Pretty sure Pilgrim was joking. ;)

Yes I am sure he was.
I was thinking that some folks might want to do that though. Funny, visions in my head of someone getting on and off the tractor to see if they had the blade level.

Richard I am pretty sure you get on a tractor and just drive, and adjust the fel bucket as you see fit.

Bucket level is really an improper description, bucket angle is what a loader technician like me is looking for. With just a 6" flat bar on top of my bucket for quick simple easy bucket angle reference works the best for this loader technician.........

I could care less about "angle". I want to know when the bucket is level in relationship to the tractor. I'll adjust from there. :)

locate the bucket flat to the ground. locate the connection that tilts the bucket. paint a line across the junction.

True, in another thread some troll went on and on about "level" not being correct term if tractor was not on level ground (up hill, down hill) ... Angle probably is better temp as it indicates relationship of bucket lip/bottom to "plane" of which tires are on....

Anyway an angle (level) indicator has help me quit a bit in may FEL operations....
