Roger, what did that splitter run you and what options are on it. I really like that splitter.

It was $3,330. It came with a log lifter (and stabilzers), tool tray and cover. It has many improvements over a Super Split. The splitter has an adjustable height, large work table, high ground clearance, retractable hitch, and the engine sits low for a low center of gravity.

Is that a hydraulic lift? Never mind. No hydraulics are on it. How hard is the lift to use?

They say it takes 50lbs of force to lift 180lbs on the lift. The only time I use it as a lift is if I can't lift the wood on to it. Mostly stage wood on it. I should have a video of the lift showing how it is made and in action in the next few days.

Thanks for your replies. Seems like there is a discrepancy here. 94bullett says his Kinetic has split everything he has thrown at it, others have said they are weak and have trouble splitting anything that isn't straight grained.
I don't mean to start a pissing contest here but I personally would like to get to the bottom of this.

First of all, the guys at Split Second have been good to me, so I'm not trying to make them look bad...but at the EXPO this fall, I watched them have to bam bam quite a few chunks as they demoed it. It's a good splitter, but like the SS, it's not as fast as a good hydraulic splitter when you get into tough wood. That was proven very handily at the competition I showed above.

Secondly, that SS VS TW vid above has been debunked numerous times. There's NO table grate on the TW, but there is a table on the SS. That makes all the difference in the world when it comes to speed.

I could cherry pick a vid of a SS bamming away on tough wood, and I know that same wood would have went right through my TW.

Anyway, it's all about what you want, both styles are good splitters.

Try to find a used Super Split forsale. You can't even find them because nobody wants to get rid of theirs. Looks like Rob is going to dodge my post of splitting a split trunk since I had a video doing it.

Check out this thread. "Crane" has a Super Split HD and Timberwolf TW6 and he prefers the Super Split.

If you go on the OPE forum and ask someone in PA may let you go try their kinetic splitter.

Do you have a kinetic splitter or have you used one?

I'll agree that no table did slow him down but not that much. It is not like he was splitting all day and getting fatigued from having to bend over and pick up the rounds. He did not loose much time picking them up. He also had to use a 6 way wedge to come close to a kinetic with a 2 way. 4 and 6 way wedges also make a big mess and you loose some wood because of it. Yes, I have used a 4 way wedge (had one for my old splitter) and I have talked to other people that say the same about a 4 way.

Sandhill Crane on AS told you his SSHD was faster than his TW6.

Lets see a video of a kinetic bamming wood. 2 or 3 hits is still faster than a 90% of hydraulic splitters.

Wanna see a video of a Split Second splitting hickory? I even show how a hydraulic handles it too.
