Farmi winch - "Rope management" ideas

That winch looks so clean and shiny. Doesn't look right. Been brooding over buying one for some time now......

Stop brooding, start buying. It's worth it. I bought mine used, but if it got stolen or something, I'd go buy a new one tomorrow. Unbelievably handy tool.

I didn't look at any of the other brands.

To tell you the truth I was less than impressed because I had to make some adjustments when pulling some logs I knew it should have been able to pull. It was by no means going to flip the tractor, so I did some research on this site. It could be one of three things:

a) Rust on the clutch from sitting idle for who knows how long before I received it (which will work itself out with usage)
b) The clutch pull mechanism is 'topping out' before it reaches it's maximum height because the safety screen is in the way (I think this may be the problem...there are nuts that act like spacers that the safety screen is attached to....I think if I add another nut to add additional space it will free the pull lever to move a little higher), or
c) The clutch needs adjustment (I am only going to resort to this after sorting out a) and b). I suspect there is nothing wrong with the winch itself. It did what I needed to do that day, but it wasn't pulling as hard as I expected.

I plan to give it another workout this weekend.

Figured an update was warranted. I rigged up a simple pulley system and put pull handles on each of the ropes. Can't tell you all the tangled rope hassles that have been eliminated.
