Excavator won't start. Round 2

I've replaced the wire fuse-able links with inline fuses much easier to deal with.

Try boosting ?? 24 volt, check battery with hydrometer, when running check alternator out put.

Did you get them tracks adjusted?

I got it to take a little grease. I think it is clogged up. And the temps were under 20 degrees all weekend so I wasn't too motivated to stick my hands and arms under the tracks and play with it. In the next week or so I expect that it will be 50-60 degrees when I am working on it.

I got it running.....but I'm not sure how.
The problem is electrical and certainly associated with the Fusible link.
I have the wire type of fusible link. When I pull one of the links....it will run. If I have the fuse in place...it won't start. This makes no sense at all.

I took a better look at it this morning when I knew what I was trying to find and I have the wire type, fusible link. So I pulled them one at a time. They were all corroded and I cleaned as much off as I could with a screwdriver and a .22 pistol brush. over and over I would try to start it up and get nothing. I was going to try to put the multimeter on the starter motor and see if it got juice, but I couldn't clip it on and there was no way to turn the key when I was laying on my belly with my hands in the engine. So then I decided to see if the voltage could be measured when I turned the key, at the point where the fusible link goes in....so I pulled the link, and put my probes from my multimeter in the socket. I set the meter onto of the rear cabinet so I could look back and see what was happening. and turned the key..... It turned over, but there was no reading at all. I got it started then got out. The reason there was no reading was that the ground had fallen out. ....this totally threw me. The engine was running, WITH NO FUSIBLE LINK> . So i turned it off then turned it on. Did that several times. IT started each time.....easily. Then I plugged the fuse back in....nothing at all. Then out and it started then in and it did nothing. I even put the fuse back in, just barely touching the metal socket....and it would not start...pull that out and it started right up.
What is going on? I didn't try to do anything else...didn't try to move it or dig....I was flabbergasted.

Link feeds an unidentified safety switch, that now works?

I went to my local komatsu dealer and bought two new fusible links. There is a 3rd that is different. They are ordering thy part. I also ordered new connectors t replace the badly corroded ones. Once I have the new connectors and links installed I will continue trouble shooting to figure this out.

Try putting the link back in place and unhooking the wire from the r terminal on the alternator, see if the unit starts

I will try that. Unfortunately, im on call for my day job this week so I won't be up there till next weekend.
What will I learn if it does or doesn't start?

If one of the diodes is bad in the alternator back feeding voltage to the anti restart relay. Eg the engine already thinks it's running so it doesn't let you"restart" the engine
