A few months ago I posted about my excavator not starting. Komatsu PC130-6

It was the starter. In the process of fixing it, I replaced the batteries, and then replaced the starter.
That fixed it and it has been running great since then.
Until today.....
Yesterday I ran the excavator all day. We were burning logging debris so I kept the excavator going the whole time. Started it up in the morning around 11 am. It turned over sluggishly and cut off. I turned it again and it started up. It was in the 20's F . Ran great all day. No problem. I let it cool down and shut it off at 930 PM.
This morning at 11 I tried to start it up and got nothing. When I turn the key to the on position, the display lights up as expected but when I turn to the start position I get absolutely nothing. No click...no sound of a relay or starter solenoid click. I went back the truck and read my operation and maintenance manual. I went back and tried to preheat the glow plugs before trying to start. (it was 19 degree F). At first I could not turn the key to the heat position. I torqued down on it and got it to move...the glow plug light came on and it indicated that it preheated. I turned the key back to the start position....nothing. I moved the key back and forth to the heat position several times and it loosened up. I never got anything when I turned to the start position. The lights/ relay, etc share a fuse with the start so I don't think that is it. I thought perhaps it could be the ignition switch. That seems like an unlikely thing to go bad but it is possible. I have had to replace starter relays in older cars before but i don't know if there is a starter relay in this machine. I know there is a battery relay but if the battery relay is bad I would expect that none of the lights, etc would work. I spent about 2 hours tonight reading thru a soft copy of the shop manual. That didn't help much.
in the Operators manual I saw reference to a fusible link in the battery compartment....I looked for that but never found anything that looked like what they showed an illustration of.
I'm sure it is possible that the starter I put in has died but that seems unlikely after no more than 30 starts.
Never a dull moment.
Any suggestions?
