2016 College Football Season and Playoff

Don't know about all that. The better team won, and that's all I can say. I'm not sore about it at all. Sorry if you feel that I am.

Alabama the football team, not the state.

Perhaps some of their football players should feel the way you do;)

Sorry, Guess I read ,or interpreted your statement incorrectly.:confused3: I thought you were indicating fans being sore losers. Although some are,:confused3: I don't fall into that group.:D
I'm not really a fan of any one team, as I have never followed football that closely, until I retired.

I was happy:dance1: to see a team from the state make it to the championship game.
Most AU fans here love to see anyone beat Bama.

Clemson the national champ. Glad to see that happen after last year's heartbreaker.

Didn't realize that Deshawn Watson is a scholar-athlete. Graduated in three years with a degree in communication. Loaded up with 15-20 course hours per semester and summer. Impressive.

Hope he succeeds in the NFL (think Dak Prescott at Dallas).

Like the Alabama fan that punched his TV when Clemson scored the final touchdown.

Don't know about that . If it's true, they are a dumb AZZ. I have known some fans that would probably do just that, so it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. I also know some AU fans that feel the same way about their team.
There are probably some of these type fans for every school that plays

I can't remember if I mentioned it in this thread, but I am a University of Kentucky Football fan (cringe). UK has had a history of stealing victory from the jaws of defeat, in addition to many games when it simply looks like the team showed up to play cricket while the opposing players were there to play football.

Many years ago, UK was playing LSU at Commonwealth when the Bluegrass Miracle happened. A brief synopsis, for those unfamiliar: November 9, 2002 - UK made a 4th quarter comeback against Nick Saban's Tigers and led 30-27 with 11 seconds left (kicked a FG and then kicked off). LSU fielded the kickoff and quickly ran out of bounds at their own 9 yard line. A quick pass moved the ball to the 25 with 2 seconds left. LSU QB Marcus Randall threw the ball downfield about 50 yards, where it was tipped by a UK defensive back and retrieved by LSU receiver Devry Henderson who ran into the endzone for the winning TD. The cannons went off to signal a UK victory, the Jefferson Pilot feed briefly showed UK-30, LSU-27 as a final on TV, fans rushed the field, Guy Morris (UK Coach) had already gotten a gatorade bath, etc. etc.

Probably the most heartbroken I have ever been over a sporting event.

I had been outside working on fences and listening to the game on the radio. However, I went inside to watch the last little bit and celebrate the win.

I ended up throwing the remote control at the wall (and breaking it) and throwing the cordless phone (and breaking it). Neither of those things helped my feelings, but at least the damage wasn't really that costly.

I've learned over the years that I'm a lot better off to just grimace and shrug it off rather than get mad - it doesn't do any good, and it won't change anything. My wife claims that my overall temperament is leaps and bounds better than used to be - and it's something that I continue to work on each day.

That one really hurt. By the same token, I was really happy when UK beat the then No. 1 rated LSU in overtime in 2007.

At any rate, I don't take sports (or anything else, really) as personally as I used to. But I can surely identify with those that do.

Good luck and take care.

NC State missed a chip shot FG at the end of regulation against Clemson and lost in overtime at Clemson. The Tigers were ripe for the picking that day and we did not take advantage of it. Dabo should send Bambard our kicker a ring.

Congrats to Clemson on their 2nd Natty. Well deserved. The ACC was better than most thought this season. Dabo is a good guy and Saban showed a lot of class. The Bama juggernaut will continue.

I think I remember watching that game. I just remember the underdog coach got a gatorade bath a little too early then lost the game with a game ending miracle touchdown. Would have been '01 or '02.

Yep, that was after he made the FG after Dabo called timeout just before the snap. Clemson struggled all year except for a couple of games until the Pitt loss, then it seemed like the defense got a new life. I doubt they would have won out if it weren't for that loss against Pitt.
