It really doesn't bother me if someone shakes hands or not. It's gotten to where college football isn't a sport anymore anyway.. It's more of a job. Like I've got to do to get to the next level.. PROS !

Do you know the percentage of college football players that make the professional level? On top of that, even if they do, what is the average time that one would stay in the pros?

Football comes and goes, a good coach however can influence a person the rest of their lives on how they live it.

"It's the name on the front of the jersey that's important, not the name on the back"

That can apply to so many things in life...

Although I was unhappy PSU lost, I was at least gratified that they participated in a great game. More important things than football, and more important things than money.

Fact is, the NCAA is nothing but a bunch of two faced hypocrites who are only looking after their own pocketbook.

Yes, not many make it ,But that is their goal. Standards have changed though.

Back in the day. how many had long hair that stuck out from under helmet ? How many had tats ? The standards for all sports have been lowered just to keep the best players on the field for a W.

How is it that a player can punch out a woman Not spend any jail time and still remain on a team ? One of bama's players was caught with a gun, no permit ,and the gun was stolen.. That's a felony all day. Yet he served no time and remained on the team.

I'm saying, it ain't what it use to be, or maybe it happened back in the day ,and we didn't hear about it..
It's all about the W at all cost, and The almighty dollar

And thus my point that the NCAA is a bunch of two face hypocrites.

My point is that it is up to the coach to lead by example.

I won't argue that it's not important that you win if you're competing in sports, I will argue that it's more important on how you win, and just important on how you lose, because sooner or later, you are going to lose.

Money and ratings I'm guessing.

Remember the good old days when going to a bowl game actually meant something? Now a team that finishes .500 gets to go to a bowl game if their fan base is there.

I had to get a chuckle about reading about wake forest winning their bowl game. With the win, they finished above .500 by one game LOL

This year and last year there were even 5-7 teams in bowl games. That just shows there are too many bowl games. I agree they should be above .500 to go to a bowl. 6 wins and in was fine when they played 11 game seasons.

I don't like the big break between the season and bowls either, but for the first bowl games it wasn't that long. I believe the first bowl game was on the 17th. Since they want to space the bowls out over 2 weeks around the holidays for ratings the only way to reduce that break would be to have the season end later, either by starting later (probably won't happen since they want labor day weekend kickoff games) or allowing more bye weeks.

The deeper you dig into college athletics, the more crooked it appears. From ESPN controlling things they have no business being involved in to schools and coaches doing unethical things to protect the football team.

PSU will forever be tainted in so many minds. All I think is Paterno & Sandusky University when I see PSU. Baylor is the latest horrible discovery. U of Montana was known as "america's rape capital" . OU is now woman beater U. The list goes on.
