I have the 21' little giant and love it so far.. Yes it is heavy, but very versatile is how you can use it.... I went with the 21' over the 17' because it was cheaper on amazon at the time

Harbor Freight carriers a similar brand that gets good reviews and they often have the 10-20% off coupons..

I have one of the Harbor Freight 21' versions. I have not had any problems with it and it's a lot less expensive, $120.
I suspect the quality of the Little Giant is better. If you are going to use it a lot then it is probably worth the difference.
Harbor Freight also doesn't offer all the neat options that Little Giant has like the work platform.
One nice thing about this style ladder is that you can set it up as a stepladder with unequal legs for working on hills or stairs.

I think what matters most Coobie is the weight rating. I believe there is one rating above the 300# ladder, but get at least a 300# rated ladder. I like the Werner. Then there's double sided (steps on both sides) that are also tougher. Do a little Googling for step ladder rating and shoot for an "industrial" rating.

I think the brands you mention are all good and pretty much the same quality wise. A 14 footer might be hard to find in fiberglass (I think Werner stops at 12). I think I'd stick with fiberglass just because of weight. And I'd stick with orange...heavier duty rating which you'll notice if you set it next to a green or a blue one and look at the hardware.

Looking at the ratings of 1A=300 lbs and 1AA=375 lbs leaning towards the 375lbs rating.I do like the idea of steps on both sides.

You get equal size "legs" with that double sided ladder. It seems that in un even set up, the smaller back legs will "tweek" a little even on a orange 300# ladder. 14' step ladder, I'm with ya on wanting something steady!

I have the biggest "little giant" that is Warner brand. If I could only have one ladder that would be it. BUT it is heavy and takes some time to adjust etc. Because of that I also have a 6' two sided ladder. For production two sides is the way to go. I also stumbled into the Warner 4' at HD for about $15 and that is great for work inside the house.
I think most brands are about the same now but all mine are Warner and I'm happy.
