That seal is really quite easy to renew. Check the bearing preload while its apart - you might need to remove one thin shim to compensate for a little wear in the wheel bearing. Also, apply a thin film of sealant between each shim, and don't tighten those perimeter bolts super-tight - they don't seem to come loose, but, especially on early 35s (and previous models) with only six bolts, the occasional one fatigues and breaks. If they all break ... the axle and wheel leaves the rest of the tractor.

I have to google the subject a little bit before I start taking it apart :)
But thanks for the tips

Did some wood transportation today! Filled the trailer to the rim, but it was no math for the 135!
The diff.lock worked perfect too :cloud9:

Geez ..... We've been having over a week of 32-35C days & 25-28C nights  and I see this pic?
 Certainly puts a new spin on the phrase "Bringing some firewood" for which I here in winter usually use a wheelbarrow, unless I'm feeling particularly lazy, in which case I use our loader bucket! I'm beginning to understand how a diff lock would be more useful in your environment compared to around here. Great to hear you've fixed it - another small victory in the battle from which you'll undoubtedly benefit almost daily! :)
PS: Hope your anti-freeze is sufficient to combat those temperatures ;)

This is nice weather! -5°C, no wind and a little bit of sun in the horizon  Perfect weather for getting firewood :) If it gets cold you can always put on more clothes, if it gets too warm what can you do?

But +30°C does sound good!

I was smiling the other day when I hauled the trailer, full of wood, up a steep tractor road :) I engaged the diff lock and it pulled away easy as nothing

Good tip about the coolant, I'll check it tomorrow

Ser fin ut den, de er veldig kjekke små traktorer, har en på farmen min i Aurland.

Had to say hello to a fellow MF135 owner that lives quite close where I have mine MF135.

Sheesh ... still can't imagine -5C is nice. ;) That's 10deg colder than a cold winter morning here! Man, I empathise with you guys living in such cold climates, Europe, Canada, Northern USA and similar .... I would take 20 years to acclimatise! Fortunately with no wind, only a pair of tradie's overalls with electrically-heated thermal underwear and a lumberjacket over them is about all I reckon I'd need! :D But you're correct - as soon as you start into some physical work you're warm, I hope you are wearing work gloves ... a necessity in my book. But you're right ... as soon as you start into some physical work, you warm up, then take off the jacket. Coupled with those temps is humidity of 75-85% - makes it feel at least 5deg hotter! :( Not so hot today, but even more humid!

Agvg, I see you're another lucky MF owner - a 135 no less  Great to see. Are there some pics posted I can see?

Anyway, you both enjoy working those icons, and stay safe.

I reckon we need a separate thread somewhere, maybe for each make, to post a pic of our treasured machines and show them in action ... what do you think?

The easiest way to do this is to take some drops of coolant, bring it to the nearest car workshop and ask mechanic to check the density with refractometer. Usually I'm doing it this way once a year in autumn. The lowest coolant temperature according to the density at you region (since you are not in the North of Norway) should be -21C.
