Step ladders ??

Eddie,my use of the step ladder is going to be just around my house/barns.The weight of the louisville 14ft. step ladder I am considering is around 90 lbs.Not to terrible weight wise.

How will you transport it home?

I've got a 21ft little giant... love it but dang heavy. Also a 8ft Werner step and assorted wood and aluminum little guys. Seeing the Podium advert, I am sold on another one just because of the frisbee action. Honestly loving the idea of having a platform as I age. Will have to check them out.

Right. Getting up that high it's good to have that railing.

My tallest step ladder is a 10' Husky 1A. Thing is heavy but stable. I have Werner, Husky, Louisville and Davidson ladders. That Davidson came from Wal-Mart. It's a 7' Type ll. Handy size for around the house and only cost about $50. Bought two of them.

I saw this article recently and this Louisville corner ladder looks like it could be very handy.

I have one little Giant, one Costco lititle giant knock off and Werner ladders up to 32'...hands down my goto ladder is the little giant. I purchased it at a trade show with everything including the walking plank. If I could only have one this would be it. Makes working on stairways or uneven ground a piece of cake and mega sturdy. I like being able to use both sides to walk up or go up one side and swing over to the other if needed.

I think this "Versaladder" may have been the forerunner of the Little Giant? I have one like this:


Had it so long I can't remember where I got it. It's steel and works well. I use it to climb over fences since it sets up as an "A" frame.

I like the idea of the podium ladder and corner ladder but already have six Werner ladders. If I was still working would get them for sure.

I guess you would call it A-frame style,not a extension ladder.The local fastenal dealer has a Louisville model 1414hd in a 14 footer that is 1AA rated(375 lbs)I going to check out monday.

In that size I purchased a Werner A Frame style. It lasted about 5' at the job site before it went back. Standing at or near the top was like trying to stand up in a canoe! We ended up with a 3 point orchard ladder and couldn't be happier. Inside it fits between studs and outside it's way easier to stabilize on uneven terrain. I did add some 550 cord between a step and the pole to prevent the pole from sliding away from the ladder on smooth concrete. Can't say enough good about this style- hopefully a local store has one so you can test it out.

I don't have this brand but here is an idea of what I would HIGHLY recommend.
