I recommend the ratchet binders with the folding handle.

Got them at a store in Oklahoma City

Xfax, those are the exact ones I was referring to. Care to review them for us?

They work good like folding handle ratchet binders should. :D

I like the free spin setting in the center, for quick adjusting in either direction. I bought them at Edwards Wire Rope many years ago.

They hold the V417 to the Delta.

They can also be padlocked:

My binders are exactly the same as the ones pictured and described by Xfaxman. My experience is limited - only about 350 miles of use. I purchased them recently and they came out to a few pennies less than $50 each - shipped. They are made in China, but seem to be well constructed.

Peerless QuikBinder Plus Ratcheting Loadbinder: Peerless QuikBinder Plus™ Ratcheting Loadbinder

4 of them with 5/16 G70 chain held my approx 6000lb load like it wasn't even there. No adjustments were needed for my initial round trip.

aarolar: [How do you have your pallet forks attached to the side of the trailer?] - When I had the trailer built I opted for the Pallet Fork Holder. Certainly saves space if hauling multiple implements. Here is a side pic showing the fork 'receptacles'.
