Buying Advice What Is Happening With Kioti?

/ What Is Happening With Kioti? #21
No issues with my 2014 (maybe 2013) dk40, ever. Great machine with plenty of power and lift capacity. I traded a Ck35 in on it that had a hst that was dripping fluid. Seems to have been a common issue on more than a few of the ck's. Hope they figured it out.

I'm not really up to date on the newer models.
I rarely look at new tractors any more.
I've sure been pleased with my 2001 DK 35. (16 years and 2040+ hours) never gives me any issues. Been a very nice, reliable tractor.
Doubt I will ever replace it.

Reviews of any product or service, especially internet based reviews, are skewed towards those reviewers that are dissatisfied. A higher percentage of displeased consumers post reviews than happy customers. It's called human nature.

However, this should be true for all brands in the Review section. (and may be?)

So how many of those posting in this thread that have enjoyed great service from their Kioti have posted reviews here?

No review from me either. Love my Kioti Clone - CT225, I have had it for over 1 year and love it. Should have bought one years ago.:cool2:

I find it true of all reviews wherever. And the answers I got to my question to those with high satisfaction levels prove my point.

Nope, these answers alse have 'selection bias'... Just the opposite way.

Except for a standard Bosch starter relay which took 5 minutes to replace last summer, I have had no problems Kioti DK35SE HST since I purchased it new in March 2011. I have over 1,100 hours on it.

The start relay problem was intermittent for 1/2 year before it finally failed. It was not serious because I carried a short wire jumper to jump the solenoid at the starter on the odd times the key did not work. When it finally permanently failed my dealer emailed me a simple trouble-shooting procedure, I found the problem, and got a new relay that day. I took the old relay apart and found the points very burnt like burnt points look like on older cars.

I saw the tractor review section but refrained from adding a review because I had zero problems. I guess now a review might be meaningful because I have some hours on it. But the sample size is small so I don't think the reviews mean much. If I gave it a rating now it would be 5 of 5 stars.

I think reviews can be meaningful on sites like Amazon where a some products have thousands of reviews or ratings.

I don't believe I did a review. I did a thread on mine instead. I have had my Tractor for just over a year. 225 hours on it. RX7320 power shuttle cab. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. My wife loves it. We have been building a road on our property, the last month. Today, since I had to drive several hours round trip to pick up an implement, She used the tractor to dress up 200 yds of the road, with the box blade, to receive our first load of rock tomorrow for the road base. When I got back , I drove my truck up and down the road....smooth as butter.
My wife did that....because she loves using the tractor.....That is money in the bank for me.
Support from my dealer has been great too. The only complaint I could have is that my dealer is 60 miles away, and out of the way for me to get to on my regular journeys, so when I need to pick up parts, it's a few hours of my day......I should probably start having parts shipped to the house.
Your milage may vary, but I am very happy that I found about Kioti tractors before I made my purchase.

I have a 2014 CK 35 Hst and had issues with the hydro pedal sticking from day one. At 80 hours, Kioti decided to replace the Transmission. All is well again.

I haven't written a review of mine either. And mine has been perfect except for the problems that were my own darned fault.

Nope, these answers alse have 'selection bias'... Just the opposite way.

I have no Bias! Have owned just about everything out there at one time or an other and have a lot to compare my last purchase with. So far I have had the no problems with the Kioti and not any of the other compacts I have owned went threw the first 2 years without needing something so I am pushing 3 years with this one and stating so is not bias its just simple customer satisfaction.

Google 'selection bias' it has nothing to do with your internal bias. It relates to who comes here to post.

Also, I hope your first sentence is toung-in-cheek. :drink:

Just looked at Kiotis in the Reviews section. Out of the 10 most recent submissions, starting in 2015, half of the owners had substantial problems. Prior to that there most of the reviews were positive with sporadic complaints.
Looking at a new DK4510 or DK5010 but a little uncertain of possible lowering of quality. Any thoughts on the subject?
Currently have an older Kioti with over 200 hours and few issues.

I don't think most folks use the review section here on TBN. Better to look at the Kioti subforums to get an idea of what the real world issues are.

My DK40se which is pretty much the same machine as the DK4510 and 5010 now has about 600 hours and has been pretty much flawless. Seatbelt retractor broke on the first day and fuel bowl leaked after about two years. Both were replaced via UPS under warranty. My tractor has never been back to a dealership or required any maintenance I couldn't do. After 10 years I'm still on the original battery and the tractor has never failed to start on the first try (with glow plugs). Don't think I've ever had a vehicle or piece of machinery that is any more reliable.

Didn't know there was or is a review section on the Tractor by Net. My NX4510HST Cab has been almost flawless and would not hesitate to buy another one or two of them

The other point is that there were plenty of positive Kioti reviews on the previous review section which was entirely dumped into cyberspace when TBN changed software systems six or ?eight years ago. But as others have pointed out, these self selected writers who post in the review section are chock full of reporting bias, both pro and con, it is simply does not represent a balanced picture for any tractor brand.

Read the tractor specific forums to get a better feel about how happy owners are and to learn of their experiences with warranty or maintenance/repair issues.

I'm the OP that started this thread. Appreciate very much all your feedback. When making an expensive purchase I like to use various tools to learn what I can, be they user reviews, forum posts, general reviews, etc. and sift out what makes sense. The user reviews may be biased but they often explain various aspects of their experience. Just looking at the number of stars is limiting. And bottom line the nature of the human mind is to be biased. Guess we just have to live with it

Something I looked at before I purchased was recall notice's and BBB. I still got a bad tractor , found out the dealer had been useing for demo and been on lot for two year's so I called Kioti corporate and they made dealer buy back. I added alittle money to it and now a proud owner of a NX4510CH . Moral; Kioti stood behind their product. The first one was not a cab..

/ What Is Happening With Kioti? #38
I've had 2 Kiotis, a DK-35se/hst for 350 hours, then traded up to a DK-40se/hst, both tier 3. Both have been great tractors, first a 2009, second a 2010 year Kioti. I was new to owning tractors, though had worked and driven other brands prior to purchase of the 2009 DK.
I've experienced few issues with my tractors, mostly stupid novice learning curve errors, which got me from the 35 to the 40 due to needing greater lift capacity, stronger loader frame, etc.
Kioti has repeatedly stood behind their product, and been good to their customer base during the time I've been on TBN. In certain cases they have gone beyond their call to duty and have bailed customers out when dealer's or tractors went off the rails. I'd like to think that some here from the Kioti sections of TBN have been influential in specific cases where the customer needed advice/guidance in how to handle a dealer or get heard by Kioti Corporate. Most every situation I'm familiar with from reading here on TBN has had positive outcomes.
So, biased or not; to me the bottom line is buy what you think will work best for you based on through research, reading from the owner/operator sections of whichever brand you're considering, and factoring in dealer location/reputation/longevity in business, etc.
Good luck, let us know what you decide.
Hint: BUY Kioti!!
