Box Scraper Box Scraper / BoxBlade Choices?

This whole debacle was started by EA. Whatever they offered to do thru emails, phone calls, PM's etc., is irrelevant. I don't recall one public post by Travis that accepted responsibility for the issues. Blaming it on the lack of "paint guy" QC excluded of course. Could have turned out sooooooo differently if handled differently by EA. It was clearly their choice. As it stands right now I am unaware of any change in manufacturing style that would ensure a future customer not having these same issues other than the aforementioned lack of "paint guy" QC. So I guess the answer is don't order a BB unpainted. :D

Please check your PM

Tractor implement paint available at most hardware stores and TSC works good and doesn't peel off. I use it to touch up things that will get lots of wear just to keep the rust away when not in use. I just cant see the point in powder coating something like a box blade as even the powder coat will not stand up to any real use for long and the paint will still look good after you touch it up.

Previously, TSC sold Valspar enamel, and Valspar is good stuff.
Now, TSC sells Majic.
I do not think Majic is the same quality as Valspar.

I don't understand why people want to have an implement powder coated or painted in the first place. Most of my implements have been purchased used and I have left them in their blemished condition. It's just gonna get boogered up all over again once it's used for a while.

I'm a function-over-form guy, and I view these things as tools to get a job done, not as something to be displayed for their intrinsic beauty.

I guess if I ever buy an implement with the intention of putting it under a glass dome for public viewing, I'll paint or power coat it. But I don't paint my hammers, screwdrivers or shovels either.

We have many different personal backgrounds.
More than 75 years ago, my mother taught me to keep my toys clean, and store them inside for protection from the weather.
It still do that!

I enjoy looking at,,, as well as using,,, my hammers

I have that same model (mine also has the the steering brake, but has duals, and 30" rotary deck) Gravely. It has about 75 hours total.
I bought it new, but it is stored in my barn, and I do not use it anymore.
I asked my 50 year old son if I should sell it.
He said ...NO!

My comment about the "paint guy" QC was tongue in cheek, that's why I added the smiley. The issues with that BB had nothing to do with paint. :D

Catman8 wanted his box blade powdercoated, I was suggesting a way to resolve his wishes.

I understand. I wasn't directing my comment at you even though I quoted your post.

Has anyone ever really tried saying anything with "tongue in cheek?" Did anyone understand you?

:)
