I am very fortunate to be in a position to dip into my teenage daughter's potential inheritance money.

I think she realizes it is more 'financially advantageous' to let me indulge in my shop activities than put me in one of the sketchy retirement homes she's been threatening me with. :D

LOL, like that comment! Just tell her it's yours and she'll get what's left.
Enjoy your 'golden years'.
Let her know you don't enjoy bingo or shuffle board.

Terry

I've had some similar discussions with my wife when I purchased a sports car. Told her that she would still have plenty left over.
\Golden years, yeah, sure sucks!
\Now if I could remember why I went to the shop????

Some how I can't get my HF 10" wheels on 5/8" bolts inspired enough to look like that.

Without any information other than what you've given us and realizing this is the bare minimum, I'd just weld a piece of shaft in the inside corners of the angle iron and have it stick out far enough to be the axles.

I've extended the width of a few hand truck axles that way so they wouldn't tip over when I hauled fence posts around he pasture. A couple of wheels have cracked possibly from too much weight but the axles and stubs have held up well.

What I ended up doing was to weld a couple of 5/8" nuts in the corner of the angle. Then bolted the wheels on using 4" bolts with locking nut. Two inch square tube with slide out inserts would be nice. Could keep the wheel base tight for getting through doors then widen out to be more stable when in use.

I made it tall so I could avoid bending. It is actually less stable lengthwise especially in the vertical position. I am going to hang some weight on the light end rather than extending the frame.

A picture is worth a 1000 " tell us more" posts.

Sketch something on paper, take a photo, and post it. You'll get some good advice.

Without more information, it will look like this if you do what everyone will suggest. :)
