Hi Pappy

Thanks for your advice. I ordered both the spacers and skidplate from Bro-Tec today. Based on all the advice I got from folks it seemed the best course. Thanks for taking the time to reply. It was very helpful.

I had Bro-Tech's skid plates on my BX also. They bolted on very easily and were solid. Nice design that even allowed oil changes with the plates installed due to holes in the right places.

Kevan, I have the front and rear BroTek skid plates on my BX. I think you will like them. I also have the spacers. The 2in on the back wheels and 1.25in on the fronts. Super quality and also very easy to install. They make a big difference for me and my steep sloped property. The BX has a very narrow stance. Go slow on uneven, bumpy ground and keep your bucket low.

Have a bx23 and have spacers and belly pans. When I had property that had trees and brush on it belly pan protected underneath but place I have now is all cleared just pasture and yard so I don't use them anymore. As far a spacers it widens it so it isn't so tipsy and works very well for loader work and backhoe work on hilly areas. Again I don't use them anymore either because the place I have now isn't as bad as where I use to be. I mostly use the tractor for mowing and some loader and backhoe things but 90 percent is mowing and can't use spacers because rear tires would hit the gauge wheels on the mower deck with spacers on. I have the two inch spacers. So belly pans and spacers are just collecting dust and taking up space.

If you have a belly mower, check for the size spacers that will work. I seem to remember that I bought the right sized spacers that would be compatible with a MMM.

I went to Bora brand spacers on my B2150. They give me 6" per side for a total 1 foot more spacing. Look to be similar design to your Bro-Tec. Mine added a huge margin of comfort when operating on steep ground-- pretty much erased a show stopper in that regard. However, they preclude using the MMM entirely and you do not want to be taking the spacers on and off very often. One of the manfrs says that their 2" spacers still allow the MMM to be used, but in my case 2" spacers were no where near enough.

I am quite pleased with the Bora's and they are VERY careful and particular getting the things made right for your specific machine.

When I got the 2 inch spacer they said it would work with the mower deck and they did as long as it was flat, smooth ground. There was only about a 1/4 inch clearance and if you were on uneven ground or bumpy ground the deck would hit the arms welded on the deck for the gauge wheels. Mostly the left side and started cutting little bits out of the side of the lugs on the tires. As stated before place I have now isn't bad to mow on without the spacers as the previous property. Can't use the belly pan with the mower deck because the power take off gear box on the mower deck would hit when I raised the deck. It was a hassle to hook up the power take off whit the belly pan on also. Not saying these items aren't any good I just don't need them anymore where I live. They did serve a good purpose where I use to live.
