This is the MX5100 with an OEM bracket and OEM weights. The MX5100 is a sturdy tractor to begin with but the addition of weights makes a big difference in picking up heavy implements or pulling things. It takes the MX5100 from a really nice tractor to a near perfect tractor. Kubota weights are beautifully made and finished and the weight shape and bracket arrangement shifts most of of the weight off the bracket. Nice setup.

It's solvent based epoxy and always looks great. There's a thread on it and the coating came to pass after I spilled about 5 gallons of nasty gear oil and the smell wouldn't go away. Smell gone now.

Below is a weight bracket I made to add tongue weight to my Brillion cultimulcher when I transport over the road. It is oddly balanced and would hunt and weave and dodge all over the place and I couldn't tow faster than 20 MPH. There wasn't an easy way to add weights so I made a bracket that I could U-bolt to the front part of the frame and slide on some dumb bell weights I could get on the cheap from the Amish thrift store. Here's how I made the bracket, added the weights and retained them with a dumb bell clamp. Works perfect and looks like it belongs. 100 lbs total does the trick. It looks nice because I just sprayed it with oil for the winter.

With the 100 lbs of added weight on the tongue, I can now tow at 40mph rather than 20mph. I don't tow that fast but it's interesting what the tongue weight does to the implement. Weight, in the right place, is your friend.

I find most trailing "soil engaging" implements over 10 feet wide tend to do this at higher road speeds. Probably because of the "floating" nature of the hitch and the unsprung weight.
