ok what oil filter for a y385

Thanks, otlski. I checked on the Napa 1516, and it's too tall. I'm limited to about 3.6" height due to the frame under the filter. I bought a Fram PH10060, and it was right in everything but the thread. It was M22x1.5. I thought that was what I had, but it's bigger, likely M24x2. I will take the filter to a shop tomorrow to verify the thread size.

I'm thinking I should replace the nipple (if I can get it out; I tried, gently, and no budge). I'm sure I can get the filter I need, but I was hoping not to pay $20-30 for it.

It might work better for you if you removed the filter head. That way you can see if the nipple is even removable.

The engine in my 2005 Jinma 284 is a Y384T according to the label. See if this will help you.

The JX0707 listed in your table is type 3. I need type 1. There are 2 different filters that are called JX0707.

I will take my filter to a shop today to verify the thread; I'm pretty sure it's an M24x2.

I verified the thread today - M24x2. 3 auto parts shops and one tractor supply shop could not find such a thing. I pulled the filter head, and the nipple is removable.

I gave up on the filter today, changed oil and put the old filter back on. I've been down for a week and I need to move some rock. I will continue to research the filter and maybe even suck up the price and order a couple from China. With so much trouble finding a filter, I hesitate to find a filter head.
