New Kubota M7060 HD12 a (%&*$! to get out of Park

Is this a new feature of a true 'park' in the transmission on M7060s or the locking of the parking brake?

I very seldom use lock on brakes...just drop the bucket if concern about movement.

The only thing I can think of is the "High-Low" shift lever. We could use some guidance as to what actually is sticking.

I've got an M7040 and M6800 and the only park type function would be the locking brake pedal. If it's the H-L lever, they all stick and a little oil and usage is the key there. On the brake, I just grunt and push down hard to release it.

I wonder if he realizes you have to press the brake pedal really hard to release the lock, and he's just using the lever?

Thanks for the suggestion about pushing the brake pedal really hard, but I don't think that's it. I have tried pushing as hard as possible, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Nor does holding it down for a while and releasing, nor doing the same with the clutch. I have called the dealer twice now, and both times he has said I would hear from a mechanic asap with a plan. Just contacted him again, for the third time.

Our M8540 has a separate lever by the shift lever for "park", I believe the M60 Series have a different system.

Does your transmission have a "park" feature or are you talking about the brake pedal not releasing or the hi-lo gearshift not going into high or low? I thought the M7060 has a hydraulic shuttle shift with a H-L lever and the typical brake pawl thing where you step on the pedal and then lift or release the handle. I'm just not familiar with your setup.

The transmission has a Park feature. When getting off the tractor, the shift selector is supposed to be in Park. This is the only parking brake on the tractor. No brake pawl (but I wish it had one).

I've read several posts of owners with M7040's having this problem but not the M7060's. The M7040 owners eventually had it fixed by dealer adjustment to the linkage. Your dealer is the correct route. I'm sure You'll be happy with the tractor after it's fixed.

Sorry for the confusion- Absolutly right with the M7040 - no park feature. It must have been an issue with shifting to another gear. Yes, the M7060 12 speed trans has the park feature.

You might try to push the lever up.... over to the right .... counter clockwise.... basicly forcing the lever to the outside... thats what seems to work best for me.

I'm not a big fan of this type of parking brake and it will take some getting used to.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. That is exactly what I have been doing. It requires two hands for me to do it, but up until recently it would work without too much effort. Now even that doesn't work. The dealer is sending out staff today or tomorrow. I look forward to hearing his suggestions.
