Trespassers shot

" If you use your own hot ammo they can get you on intent to kill or something like that."
I think that is a common misconception. But not true. I don't think they can charge you for making your bullets deadly...
I like Black Talons myself.

Yep, just another senseless killing by an armed nutcase. Now what if the killer didn't have a gun, wasn't allowed to have a gun, what in the world would have happened? Maybe the 'intruders' would have left the property alive? Maybe they would have hung the property owner high for the wolves to naw at his bones?
Maybe they would all be friends sharing a case of Bud?
Guns, everyone must have a bunch to keep everyone safe; except of course the ones shot by the one who decides they aren't safe, and starts blasting away.....

It is really surprising what some people, even with licenses to carry concealed, think the laws of their own state are.
Here in MI the instructors in many required classes give out WRONG information or substitute what they think the law should be and the police do the same thing,

Maybe not but I would rather not take the gamble while trying to explain to a jury of my peers why I load my shells hot. And i can hear it now, if it wasn't for the hot shells the victim may have lived and by loading hot shells your intent is to do great damage to the person rather than just stopping the threat.

It may never be an issue, I personally am fine just stopping the threat or slowing them down so I can get away.

What cracks me up is gun owners that insist they have to carry a .45 or a .357 mag, something bigger. I carry a .38 with 7 shells, I don't care how big you are, if you get shot in the leg your not gonna be running very fast, also if they have a gun, I'm not gonna be dumb and start a gun fight with a person. Hollywood lied, hiding behind a desk or wooden crate won't help you in a firefight lol.

That's my theory anyway.

"Charge you for making your bullets deadly"? All bullets are deadly. It all depends where the bullet strikes a person.

Years ago, on a farm near me, the farm owner was killed in the milk house when his own hired hand robbed him. He was shot and killed with a single .22 cal. rimfire bullet to the head.

An innocent life lost and family decimated and another locked away for life when he was caught about a week later. All for a few dollars the farmer had in his wallet. Senseless!

If I was on the jury: Not Guilty.

Screw trespassers and thieves!

Being killed for trespassing and nothing else but trespassing is a bit much i do agree. Would be nice if more areas in the USA would actually prosecute and punish trespasser so that at least the casual trespassers would know their is some kind of consequence to their actions. News on a fairly regular basis has articles about people being killed when running from police. Now wether the officer has justifiable reasons to shoot is different in every case. One thing for sure is that if someone that might have a gun says to stand there or lay there or rub your tummy and pat your head perhaps one should do so. You can figure out the right and wrong later. Running from a cop or trespassing can have consequences, i just do not understand why someone would tempt getting shot, regardless of legal or not. And its never the one who gets shot fault............

Killing trespassers has never been legal. Even under English common law, which existed before this country was founded...and rightfully so.

A CC instructor I had in Wisconsin explained to us that if your gun is loaded with purchased shells that have the name Defender or something equivalent in its name you will stand a better chance as a defendant in a trial. Any bullet will potentially kill a person, but that conveys you are trying to defend yourself or somebody else. It made sense to me.

I have cheaper target rounds and then when done the Personal Defense rounds go in. But in a jam anything will work but I dread the day anything will have to be used.
