I've never done that with steaks on the grill, but I did recently put a pizza directly on the rack in the oven, only to learn later that I forgot to remove the cardboard from the bottom side of it.ullinghair: Yep, hate it when something like that happens.

hahahaha I've done that a couple times. And then I've tried the pizza. Brings "Tastes like cardboard" to a whole 'nuther level.

That cardboard flavoring adds something special...

We go to this place once in a while.... its a butcher shop in a small town just north of us.
Boneless whole prime rib is $3.99 a pound with a 15# average. They'll cut it however thick you want.

Same here. I've never been a big steak eater, but I'll never turn down a ribeye.

Years back a friend of mine forgot some pricey steaks in the back of his car on a warm spring day. He didn't discover it until much later in the day but BBQ'd anyway and didn't bother to tell anyone. Best and most tender steak we ever had.

The better steak places will "dry age" steaks for weeks...but not in the back seat of a car!

Controlled rotting... all my deer are aged in a cooler for 7 days. A close friend wanted deer killed that day... we ate the back strap and promptly pasted around dental floss. What a waste of good meat...

The heart, liver and inner loins are the only parts that get eaten around here before it gets hung in the cooler from seven to a dozen days...
