Thank you.

As of right now, we are working on finding the easiest flight for the new puppy to get here. He will be flying out of Edmonton and it looks like Houston is the best option for a non stop flight. It's twice as far from us over DFW at 4 a hour drive each way. Going over his lineage, his grandfather is the number one winning Akita in AKC history, Kami's grandfather is the number 2 all time winning Akita. At 7 weeks, he is already 18 pounds!!!!

That's no small feat. In fact, it's huge for someone just getting into it. Congratulations!

My mom was very fond of that breed. She said her next dog was going to be an Akita. However, she passed away before that happened. Anyhow... great looking animals. Glad you kept your first one for a pet. My wife and I got our first dog (a Cairn Terrier) from a breeder that said he was no good for show, but would make a great dog for a pet, none the less. He was. :)

Good luck in your future showings and breeding.

What he said- I couldn't show our Irish Wolfhound, because I got too stressed by it, and it made him stressed- and I have been up to the wrist in people's chest and bellies at my work, so you can imagine the stress levels involved.

God bless and great going!

Give our congrats to both of them as well!!

Congratulations!!!
I looked at the photos before reading and thought the dog might be an akita. Isn't that the kind of dog that didn't bark when OJ's wife was killed?

I forgot about Nicole Brown having an Akita. The most famous Akita is Hachi, who waited for his owner at a train station for years after he passed away in Japan. Richard Gere stared in the movie about Hachi, which was really good, but it will make you very sad when you realize how much loyalty he has. Which is one of the traits Akita's are famous for.
