Rural King going to start selling tractors again

I read the RK announcement and it said it was starting with these stores but would roll them out to all stores in the immediate future and that they would provide service to them. I must have deleted the email but if you got it, it's in there. I don't recall this as a pilot program but a both feet in kind of thing.

Didn't RK carry MF a few years ago and maybe something Chinese before that?

RK is a changing and dynamic growth company so I think this is a positive for the industry and believe they are committed to success but that 's just a guess on my part.

The Mattoon corporate store has Massey Ferguson sub and compact tractors on the store floor. And they had two or three different brands of Chinese tractors before that. But be aware that RK doesn't service anything that they don't sell. So it they sell these tractors for a few years and one day give them up. They will no longer work on your tractor, nor supply parts

I am near certain RK said they would service the new line they are selling. Not just sell it.
Anyone on their email list would have received the same email I did.

I am near certain that if RK folded on the tractors and stopped selling them that TYM would cover the warranty since essentially the warranty they are offering pretty much matches TYM. I am guessing that TYM dealers will handle the warranty work or they will sub contract it out.

TYM has been in the US for awhile but never able to really grab a foothold to the other big names but if you want to get your product out there what better way than to go with a chain that has 91 stores that already carries king kutter and doesn't need to have a massive markup on the tractors to be profitable as long as they are able to sell in volume.

What do they offer that would steer you away from an LS or a Kioti.

For me it would most likely is that they would have a no haggle price. There's a few dealers on tractorhouse that offer that pretty much offer bottom line pricing and focus on quantity sold instead of profit margin.

Some guys like doing the dance of getting the best deal on a sale. I am not so good at it so I am always searching for the best deal listed. As for brands, I think they are all pretty decent and all have their perks and flaws. Some are just more expensive then the other.

I have no alliance or bias to RK but I am almost certain there prices will be hard for dealers to match. Dealers will still offer better service/support but you will be paying for it most likely. If they don't than I am willing to bet this tractor venture won't last terribly long much the same way it happened with Cabelas.

From what I have heard RK went out on their own and bypassed TYM here in the states with this deal. So they are the only ones in charge of warranty. If they decide to quit selling tractors the warranty could also quit. I would rather stick with a dealer on big ticket items.

They didn't want anything to do with Cabelas machines when that arrangement ended. Somebody here posted a memo where TYM basically said they would have no involvement in the warranty on Cabelas branded tractors at all.

Wow thats interesting I did not know that. I wonder if Kioti did the same thing with Bobcat when they ended up dropping their line?

My local TYM dealer did warr. work on a Cabelas tractor, and Cabelas paid the bill.

Wow, didn't see this email from Rural King. I'll have to make sure to take note on my way home tonight to see if I see any tractors at their Circleville store. I usually stop there about twice a week for something any way....hmmm....the outside doggy is needing food. That is my excuse to stop tonight. LOL. I might also have to make a trip to Waverly on Sunday just to see. I really am starting to like the idea of a cab with HVAC. Their Waverly store is unique. It is in the old Mills Pride factory. Mills Pride was a huge cabinet manufacturer in the late 80's through around 2000. They sold ready to assemble cabinets mainly through Home Depot. They had almost 5k people working there - well slaving there for very little money. I was payroll manager for a temp agency and we were typically running between 600 and 750 temps there each week. So it is kind of weird to walk into a store that used to be a factory. It is just "different" from a normal big box store. Don't know why, but it is.
