Rural King going to start selling tractors again

/ Rural King going to start selling tractors again #31
I looked at the RK tractors last night at the Morganton, NC store. They sure are purdy and look well made. The warranty work, plus the closest RK to me is 70 miles away, keeps from buying. Their RK24 with the options I want is rougly $183/month. Whatever I buy, I'll need financing and that is why I am considering new over used.

I have no issues doing my own repair and maintenance work, but if they drop tractors in a few years, where's the parts supply going to come from? They seem to be running Yanmar engines, but what about the hydrostat drives on the SCUT/CUT, like I am looking at. My eye has been on Kabota BX line. There is a couple dealers within 20 minutes of my home in upstate, SC. I'm not sure the RK tractors are wort it, even if they do have factory trained service techs and mobile techs. Are they going to send a service tech 70 miles down to my property to replace a $30 hydraulic hose under warranty? I'd have one made locally just to save the wait and down time.

It was stated above that some of the farmer wannabes will probably be the ones to buy in and get handed their buts when RK drops out of the tractor dealing game again.

I assume you can simply order any parts from TYM

Sir, you make greats points about the importance of service. There are a lot of factors that go into a person痴 buying decision but I want to eliminate one concern. RK Tractors are here to stay. We are selling everything we can get because the quality and features are premium and the prices are far below those of any competitor, and we still earn a nice profit. We began on April 1, 2017 at only seven Rural King stores, and were 14th and last in sales by under 60-HP tractor brand in the U.S. We are now offering RK Tractors at 40 locations, and will be at over 90 locations next year, and will be the 6th leading tractor brand in the U.S. by the end of 2019. We have no intention of stopping there, and we will be in the business 25 years from now.

Wow thats interesting I did not know that. I wonder if Kioti did the same thing with Bobcat when they ended up dropping their line?

So far as I know they did exactly that. I worked for a Kioti dealer at that time and we had a Bobcat dealer 15 miles away.

I thought I just read somewhere that they will be selling an RK55, open cab with hydro very soon and also offering a larger tractor (RK74?)

You are correct, we now offer the RK55 open station with a three range hydro and we now offer the 74HP RK74 as a cab only, with 16F/16R Power Shuttle with creeper gear for $42,998 including the L135SL self-leveling loader and RimGuard in the rears.

Why is it that when you start getting into the larger tractors they offer self-leveling?

Why is it that when you start getting into the larger tractors they offer self-leveling?

Very good question. When you get into the higher HP, especially into the utility range, there are a lot of commercial applications that use the loader at high frequency. Take hay & forage for example. When moving large bales, it is critical to keep the bale level for safety and efficiency purposes. A self-leveling loader enables that automatically. Self-leveling loaders are typically offered as an option. We chose to make standard because our L135SL at only $4999 is at least $3k lower than any competitors conventional loader. Hope that answers your question. Feel free to ask anything, anytime
