Reflash again! 3rd time a charm?

As with any bureaucracy the problems usually come after they have solved the problem they were originally put into place to solve. They just don't know when to stop and can't help themselves from over reaching and becoming a royal pain in the a s s. They'll do anything to keep their bureaucracy alive, growing and sucking at the taxpayer tit. Afterall it's not their money but it is their job so they'll eventually become a cure in search of a problem. Like winning a war but keeping the military at full fighting strength as if they were carrying on an active campaign.

Geez, Dick.... tell us how you REALLY feel.... !!!! [[[ :) :) :) ]]]

I don't think the 1526/3016 has an ECU.
Correct - the 1526 is an old-school indirect-injection diesel with a mechanically-controlled injection pump.

Two of the primary reasons I chose my 1526 are that there's no emissions follow-on nonsense and there's no electronics.

It's only a simple observation. There are not too many bureaucrats who are willing to break their own rice bowls for the good of the country or the people as a whole just because their job is pretty much done. It's a pretty simple and easily understood concept really. If you believe otherwise I guess you're also still waiting for Santa to show up every Christmas eve and stuffing teeth under your pillow for the tooth fairy.

As far as the ECU thing goes, I don't think anything has done more for internal combustion engines since they first came out than the concept of electronic fuel injection. However they won't do anyone much if any good without proper programming but sadly from what I've seen, that has been somewhat lacking on Mahindra's part. The auto industry tends to do a much better job but I guess they have larger numbers to work with so there is much more at stake if they don't get it right. Just ask VW. LOL

According to my dealer MCRD Engines under 50hp should receive an ECU update this spring/early to maintain EPA compliance.

Well if mine ain't broke I ain't fixin it. They can reflash it if and when it gets to the shop again. This is unless someone else wants to pick up the dime to ship it down there and return it.

This is a good thing.. id take advantage of any type of update offered... its not to fix your tractor its to let you take advantage of better software and help the tractor perform even better
