Question for our Canadian friends Re: faucet flow rates

/ Question for our Canadian friends Re: faucet flow rates #11
There is no California style restriction requirements on flow rates for Canadian faucets, shower heads, etc.. The reality however is that most of the stuff sold at a Canadian retailer is made for the "North American" market and often has the restricted flow rate anyway. The most common difference is that instructions are in English and French rather than English and Spanish.
As mentioned above, it's pretty easy to get around the flow restrictions by easy modifications.

It's one of my many pet peeves that because Californians have no water the rest of us must suffer through low rate showers and faucets. Here in the Great Lakes states we have more than enough water. In some rust belt cities estimates are that as much as 40% of water taken from the lakes is lost to leaks. No big deal, it isn't going anywhere; it just reenters the groundwater system.
Some eminent scientist or another likes to comment that we're all drinking dinosaur pee.

I have 100 + psi from a gravity system and removed the water savers from the shower heads but I would'nt mess with the screens in kitchen taps unless you want a bath every time you turn a tap on the aerating is for a reason. There is no restriction with bath tub taps.

You don't mess with the screen. You only take out the restrictor and the aerator still works fine. My pump is regulated between 65 and 80 lbs. I then regulate my domestic water to 60 lbs. I find that is sufficient pressure for a shower, less wear and tear on the system and no change in pressure using water inside the house. Outside, it's full pressure. I can run three garden hoses at once with no apparent loss other than the slight change you get when the pump cycles.

Quiet Ssh, bad enough that we had garbage police in our city, yes they hired students to check that we placed the correct trash in the assigned colored bins.
Or the faucet police.

Thank the Lord I don't have to put up with any of that. The Shire doesn't even pick up my garbage, I have to take it to the tip myself so everything goes in the same bin; mind you, I don't get charged for garbage 'pick-up' on my annual rates so I'm not upset.

Now, if we were talking about the mattress-tag police... well, um... er... it came that way! :eek:ath:
