I just changed my fluid yesterday on my 2520. Not the same filter - mine is M801034 - but still a 2-series. Then saw this thread. Of course it worked like that. Went out and looked at the old filter and indeed it had magnets in it like the suction screen did. So now what do I do? The tractor is at 300 hours. Since the manual doesn't mention the magnets in the filter at all I'm wondering if they are mainly there for the initial break-in?? Or is this needed all the time.
How much fluid will I lose if I unscrew the filter and drop the magnets back in? Perhaps I can get a helper to stick his thumb over the big outlet tube once I get the filter off to reduce the fluid loss.
