Just found one hiccup and resolved it. The default time-out after you shut the vehicle off is 30 minutes. I used the manager site to set it to never shut down and all is good now. Keeps it from shutting down with voltage under ~12.7 (a guess at the voltage level that it assumes means the vehicle is running...)

6 down, almost 4 up outside Mancos. Still better than my DSL back in Farmington...

Ya that was in the instructions that my adapter came with, of course I didn't read them until that issue popped up

Do you know what your signal strength was? I've very poor signal strength (-113 to -117Db) and only 2 down today.

-85db last night at 6 down 4 up.
Same signal strength but slower this morning... 3 down and up. Good enough for me!!

It is interesting that speed test.net thinks I'm closest to Los Angeles. Doesn't make much difference to speed if o let it choose or if I select a more local server.

It picked my location wrong also.
I use speed test a lot and occasionally find SLOW servers in China and Russia.

How much signal can you get from the AT&T?
I'm pulling about -113db but still getting 2 to 3Mb download speed.

Not sure what the level is. If I set my AT&T phone by the window, I get 1 bar of service, and can recieve texts, and make a call via speaker phone, can't walk around with it. If I walk outside I can make a call in our front parking lot north of the building, but if i walk south, east or west, drops to 0 in yards. If I leave the parking lot via vehicle, if I drive north in about 50 yards I get signal, about 200 yards east or west or south I get signal. The dang spot where our office is is just about a 200x200 yard literal dead zone...

Wish I had a way to get my phone to tell me the signal strength at that window. It's the only north facing window near my desk. Incedentally, that is where I have the verizon hot spot setting too. It gets best signal there,a nd is central tot he east / west of our building as we have 2 other offices one up and down the hallway about 10 yards. the hotspot signal is fine there and back. we have someone with sprint and verizon in the office. the lady with verizon gets ok service, sprint is about as poor as at&t.

Right where our office is, we have no other good option for wired dsl. no cable... we are in the armpit I guess.

I got my ZTE Mobely on Tuesday, so far been great other than got to get the 1/2 hour power saver changed .

I went to an AT&T store yesterday. Person helping me had never heard of them. Showed it to her on AT&T website... she took it (my phone with link) to their manager, whose only response was "they are strictly an Internet item. We can't help you."

Just for grins I asked about the $20 month unlimited plan for it. Her response? "Impossible. They do not offer such a plan."

So I went by Best Buy. He had never heard of them, either. But he checked online for inventory. None of the three nearest stores have them.

So just ordered form Best Buy eBay for $79.99 this morning.

Not really looking forward to the runaround I'm going to get trying to activate it. :laughing:
