Because 95% never adjust anything anymore and the gear and handle was easy to replace with a rotating collar probably too cut expense. I know of more tractors that the handle does not work than the ones that do. because they are just not used

My Ford 8N is 66 years old, and that little gear handle still works great.
I only use the 8N now to pull a grader blade, but being able to easily adjust that one side of the blade, is the answer to maintaining a proper driveway crown.
I am ten years older than the 8N, ....and I am worn out!

Hand-crank adjustable link came with my Branson 3520H; I'd imagine you can get one from a Branson dealer.

what do you do if you need to use the remote.??? Ive been in and around farming all my life and I cant see the reason to have a lift arm hydraulics. Once you get it set for the piece of equipment your using there is no need to adjust it and every tractor I've ever been on had some form of right arm adjustment. I'm just curious as to why this would be practical

I'm with you, the only time I adjust mine is if I'm cutting a ditch.

I too am use to the '52 8N with the hand crank. One thing it does is keep grease from getting on your hands just to make a small adjustment. It also stays where it was set. On the twist type, if you don't screw the big nut down against it....it will lost the adjustment when pulling something heavy like a 6' box blade. I am going to put one on my Kubota this summer. It just plain makes sense. I leave the 5' finishing mower hooked to the 8N to mow the front fields and around the house. The 'bota is reserved for heavy duty stuff.
