Cheap $20 a month Stand Alone Unlimited Rural Internet through AT&T Wireless

Checked my account. Mobley added to my msv plan for $10/mon instead of standalone unlimited for $20. Hopefully, not a hard fix as the order email states the $20 Unlimited.

Well, that proved easier than I anticipated. About a 10 minute chat, 1 person only and done. Shows as two plans for the Mobley and my msv plan for my phones, all same account number. Now I can tweak my msv plan

Activation Fee

When I activated my mobley the person on the phone and I were very clear. The activation fee was $0. Even showed that on MyATT afterward. Got my first bill yesterday, there was a $25.00 activation fee!

Not at all surprised of course... this is AT&T, and adding unauthorized charges to your bill is standard practice.

So I called them last night... closed of course. Called today and worked with Liza. She insisted it was a legitimate charge, but just this once she would make a 'courtesy adjustment' and took the $25 off.

That's all I really wanted them to do, whatever they call it, so I'm satisfied for now.

I do need to set it up better. Just using alligator clips and a battery for power for now.

I moved the Mobley, ran a speed check and thought it had set a record! :thumbsup:

Then I noticed it was a K not an M.

Life is good.
Firmware upgraded self to 1.0.1
Installed antenna connector
Installed a Yagi on my roof and connected - 92dBm which is about best I see. I posted a pic of this earlier,
Speedtest 22 down, 12 up.

Awaiting my router....

If you get a chance to take a picture of your setup, that would be great!

My mobley finally upgraded to 1.0.1 so was able to set the time out. It was set for 30 minutes and i was getting up every once in awhile to shake it to wake it up. I get just as good as the verizon 'connect home'. Im happy.

Before i forget. Thank you zimy for turning me on this!!

Ok, not sure what to get pics of, but will take one of antenna mast and Mobley dangling from shelf tomorrow.
