Post 18-20, thanks. Keeping the brands and thoughts in the equation. Will likely pick up some Herculiner from Wally world, though I don't like giving them business any more than necessary.

If you do Amazon (especially Prime) they are very competitive and it comes to your door.

Amazon.com: Herculiner HCL1B8 Brush-on Bed Liner Kit: Automotive

I did search for Herculiner online, and found it at Groupon for less than Amazon, $69 inc. tax, with free S/H. Should be here in a few days.
I did find a quart available at my local Napa, but it was like $36 with tax, and has no brushes, roller or scuff pad. So a gallon with roller handle, 2 covers, scuff pad and for the price I found is a deal.
I also noted the T-Rex product for future reference; I just want to brush it on the Kioti's bed, if I go to spray stuff I'll likely get more on me than the Kioti!

Since this UTV bed is brand new, what would you guys suggest for doing the clean/prep prior to rolling on the liner? Acetone? Or something else?

Thanks,

CM

The Herculiner instructions say specifically xylene.

You can use acetone but is a bit rough on human skin and lungs so be cautious and use some protections. You'll also need to rough up the surface to get good surface bond. By hand with 3M scuff pads will work but there is also a scuff pad made for hand held grinders that I like. It saves the arms and shoulders when you are doing it by hand.

Heard of it, don't think I've ever used it. Is it readily available in paint stores and similar?
Thanks.

I hear you on the damage it can do. I have a 41/2" Makita grinder with circular grinder disks, sort of like a flap wheel but they're horizontal application. Would those work? I got them to sharpen mower blades and such....
I'm not much of a paint and similar coatings applicator guy, obviously...:confused3: Thanks.

Cant say if it is right but I always use 3m pads then wipe with carb cleaners and never had anything ever peel or come off.

Yes, common solvent. You can get it at Home Depot.

Thanks.

Yep, carb cleaner definitely dries metal. I may try it on some of the area I have to cover. I still have some lying around.
