I enjoy the TV show "Last Man Standing". I have always been a fan of Tim Allen. The show is the complete opposite of most shows on television. It is a good clean moral show that is about as anti-liberal as I am. ABC has decided to cancel the show after 6 seasons despite the very high ratings. I have signed a petition along with over 200k others so far and I would like to ask any of you folks that are fans to sign as well.

Petition * ABC Network: Save Tim Allen'''s Show "Last Man Standing" * Change.org

If you are interested in watching the show, reruns are aired on the Hallmark channel and on CMT.

I too love the show. The writing is superb, which is more than I can say for most of the crap on TV. I don't know much about the contractual aspects of these shows, but it would be nice if it could be picked up by another network, like Fox.

I never even heard of this show until it got cancelled. I'm shocked that it's been on for six years!!!! But since ABC is against it, I'm all for it and signed the petition. :) I really don't like ABC news.

I've watched the show and enjoyed it. Also a Tim Allen fan........so I signed the petition as well.

I don't see it doing any good. Liberals don't play by any rules, or maybe I should say, change the rules to suit them.

I watched every episode. Wish they kept the original actress for the oldest daughter though.

With the turn that ABC shows "Designated Survivor" and "Quantico" have taken towards the end of the season, it seems as though ABC is trying to push a liberal viewpoint pretty hard. I won't be watching either of those shows next year. The other comedies that I watch on ABC don't seem to be very political though. Another good family comedy on ABC is "The Middle".

There have been several shows that have been picked up by other networks in recent years. Typically a cable channel can pick them up, but The CW has done it also. Might not be a far reach for a show this popular. Would be a good fit for CMT.

I agree, they should have kept the original eldest daughter. I enjoy the show, it is the only show I watch on ABC. I signed the petition, hopefully some other network will pick it up, either way I am done watching ABC. From what I read, all the Friday night comedies have been canceled as ABC is revamping the Friday night lineup to be all drama shows.

I like the show, but it is my wife's #1 favorite, she even watches all the reruns . I'm sure she will be signing that petition.

I doubt that the petition will do any good, as this wasn't by any means a bubble show and was holding it's own in rating. It was a political move against someone who didn't follow the liberal Hollywood dogma. They'll probably replace it with something about an urban crack dealer who's sooo much smarter than the doddering honkies he finds himself surrounded by, or a couple of slags who look like they'll get their cats out at a moment's notice.
CMT has been running marathons of LMS, and they did resurrect another ABC cull, Nashville, so they might pick this up as it is a stronger property, ratings wise.

I consider myself a moderate but I like the show. FYI all the reruns are on Netflix. That's the only way I watch any series these days. Can't deal with all the commercials.

Tim Allen started out as a stand up comic, and he had a couple big cable hits with his Men Are Pigs and Tim Allen Rewires America showtime specials back in the early 90's that developed into his TV show, Home Improvement, in which he played an inept handyman host of a tv show who's credo of "More power!" inevitably resulted in less than the desired outcome. He had a wife and three boys, and an elusive neighbor that often combined for mild hijinx of a a family friendly variety and usually concluded with a positive lesson of some sort.
Last Man Standing is pretty much the same formula with three daughters and him managing a sporting goods store. In both shows he was conservative and got in a few digs at the liberals; it ramped up a bit on the latter show with positive statements regarding Trump but it was by no means a politically oriented theme to the show, just some passing observations.
And yes, Tim did have some drug problems and spent a few years at the graybar hotel back in the 80's, as the wankers-digest spamming horse@#$ monger will probably be along to gleefully proclaim in a bit.

Watched a couple reruns tonight just to see what it was. A lot like Home Improvement a bit updated and improved.

Not one I would normally watch but it had an overall uplifting theme.

Funny how anything and everything the conservatives don't like gets blamed on the "liberals". Even though the studio gave their own unrelated reason for cancelling, the conspiracy oriented right knows "the real reason". Does that sound familiar? And, of course, the "real" reason is always, the liberals. How convenient to always have a bogeyman to blame for everything and to know all about the inner decision making process at ABC.

Now, it seems, the petitioners think the studio will bow to pressure and re-instate the show. Because, you know, the petitioners have a lot of power over a private company and think they have the right to tell that company what to do. The petitioners want to tell the company what they must broadcast. Hmmm. So much for "free enterprise". Here's a suggestion if you don't like the programming, turn the TV off or change the station. Why try to be a nanny and dictate to the network? Or expect them to continue under pressure to entertain you? And here is another thought: they are in business to make money. That's the purpose of business. If they can make more money with another show, they will do it in a heartbeat. And why shouldn't they?

The so called conservatives are always playing the moral card or try to blame the liberals for everything, but at the same time talk about getting government off our backs, freedom, private property rights, etc. Oh wait, until their favorite TV show gets cancelled and then it's war and time to force private business to cater to them.

Maybe some of you guys can explain how you can force a company, one that you admittedly don't like, and is run by "liberals", to continue to entertain you, when they don't see profit in it. And while you continue to whine that they are morally wrong and that they are lying to you. I gotta see how this works out.:laughing:

No politics is one of the reasons I enjoy this forum so much!

Channing Dungey, The CEO and programming director of ABC stated months ago that because of the Donald Trump Presidency, she was rethinking her programming strategies. Last man standing was one of ABCs highest rated/most watched shows yet was cancelled over other far lesser watched programs. Doesn't sound like a conspiracy to me.
