Wound up stuff on the seals can/will cause seal damage.

To be clear, seppi and MeriCrusher are not the same company. Seppi is and Italian company, MeriCrusher is a Finnish brand name. The Manufacturer is Suokone. It's not possible to burn belts with a MeriCrusher . . . It is gear or chain driven. Most, but not all seppi machines are belt driven.

MeriCrusher would not be the best choice for mowing, the company is a below ground specialist. Seppi is a great manufacturer of flail mowers, and would be a good choice.

Also, I notice that he has hammer blades mounted. Perhaps if he tried grass knives the results would be different. Hammers work great for small woody material as in orchard prunings or rough brush country but fail somewhat in use in grass.

This made me go back and look - and realize I didn't read well. ROTOR shaft, not PTO shaft. I feel stupid....
