well after 8 hr on the machine and issues started at 3 hrs. i finally sent a letter to the head honchos of husky. we'll see what happens. dealer was an absolute jerk and returned a mower with engine popping and stalling just like it was when they picked it up. they never looked at it until i was ready to pay for it. BS. they repaired a defective trans under warranty but how the **** could they bring back a backfiring and engine popping machine to me at my cost and say it is fixed or you did not want to pay for checking out and fixing the engine pop. **** it is 4 hrs old. just turned 8 hrs and always having issues big time. so - sent a letter.

to anyone wanting a husqvarna - stay away - not bashing just a reality. terrible shabby dealer, and a piece of junk machine. been using grden tractors for almost 60 yrs and this is trash.

we will see what happens. common customer service and courtesy should have rectified this issue.

My friendly "Mr. Fixit Guy" has told me NEVER to buy ANYTHING by Husqvarna.
Apparently Husky saws and weed whips are made in the same plant (US) as Poulan, and he says they are cheap junk also.
Surely someone here at TBN will disagree with the above assessment though.
I just bought a 35cc 4 stroke Honda brush cutter/ weed whip, and the Honda is a quality machine.
Don't know much about Husqvarna riding mowers.....except,.... that I will never buy ANYTHING Husqvarna!

Good info to have; thanks. I have a Husqvarna Rider 155 mower, 15 years old with over 2500 hours on it, with no current nor past problems. But if it craps out tomorrow, I'll definitely label it "junk" and not buy another one either.

In fact, I think I'll go ahead and label my other Husqvarna garden tractor, my string trimmer (10 years old), my wheeled string trimmer, my chain saw, my spouses Husqvarna Diamond sewing machine(s) and my leaf blower, as "junk". Obviously everything Husqvarna builds or has ever built, is no good.

Holy smokes that's a lot of hours on a lawn mower. Since all you have is junk, you should replace it with stihl

My first chain saw was a Husky Farm Boss, or something like that. It was an expensive chain saw that worked great for the first couple months of steady use, but then it lost power and I thought it was just the chain, but after putting on a brand new chain, I couldn't get it to start. I took it in to the dealer and he said the engine was shot and he wanted $40 to tell me that. He said it was beyond repairing. I've never bought another and never will.

Take it back to the place you bought it.

A couple of years ago I bought an Electrolux dishwasher, which is made by the same company. If failed after less than 30 days of use. The proper procedure was to call customer support and request warranty service, I spent months and months calling their support. It became apparent that their customer support had zero ability to fix my problem and that the corporation had no desire for customer support to be successful. I was just about to start the process of filing a small claims lawsuit when I decided to check with the dealer one more time. They have a different number they call, when I was able to document what I had been through the dealer called them and chewed them out and a few days later I had a new dishwasher.

I agree that it's a terrible company and I will never again buy one of their products. In a way I think they're symptomatic of a trend in American business where customer service is seen as an unnecessary expense.

I do like Stihl brand equipment. The down side of so many hours on the Rider 155 is that it IS a lot of hours of mowing; more than I wanted. At the time, that was the best mower I could afford. Now I'd much prefer a larger faster mower like a ZTR and put on a lot less hours on it. I do like Scat and XMark... but for the best bang for the buck, Husqvarna equipment has served me well in the past. Not to imply that some other may not have been so fortunate. And to add, times do change. Husqvarna may not be the best bang for the buck in today's world. I'm not here to say yes or no, but here to observe the experience of others. Mine has been good, but maybe I'm that one-in-a-million? Thankful? yes.
