Some have more complex networks where "things" happen at night. Also remote access is something I do frequently. Regardless, to each their own. Unplug the dishwasher if someone wants. Shrug..

Back to the real subject.... My $20 plan has been great. Went way over 22G and no slowdowns. Other than availability, these things rock. Hoping it lasts a while. Assuming you can get them activated.....

I've a decent network at home in Virginia, until the power goes out. BUT my Mobley is parked about 20 yards from where I surf :)
So the power went out about an hour ago, I fired up the car for a few minutes, and now i'm surfing at 10 down and 5 up, signal about -105dBm.
Good enough in crowded Northern Virginia.
/edit - and when I hit the return to post the power returned!
Oh well, needed to test run the genny anyways,

More AT&T stupidity:

So in April my DirecTV contract aged to 12 months. I thought I had 24 months intro pricing but apparently not. My rates went up a lot. I called ATT and talked with them several times at length about how I could reduce my bill. I was told that if I switched from my 20GB plan to 'unlimited plus' it would actually be cheaper for me. I did this. Bear in mind that since starting with ATT I have a discount available due to my employer's relationship with them. Well, turns out they lied to me and even though they told me that 25% discount (on the base plan rate, nothing else) would apply to the new plan it does not (I took copious notes on all details of the switch at the time because I've been burned too many times this way by ATT, T-mobile, Comcast, etc.). Apparently unlimited plans only qualify for veteran/military discounts. So, when I talked to them today to try to figure out why that went away I was told I could switch back to my old plan (note that I added the Mobley after my plan switch in early April). I made the rep dig into the situation to make sure that my $20 unlimited Mobley plan would not change since it ended up being added to my existing account and not as a standalone plan when I signed up. Didn't want it to get lumped into my 20GB cap. Sure enough, if I make any change to my plan and go off the 'Unlimited plus' plan, according to her, they will then either dump the Mobley into the 20GB family limit or start charging me about $95/mo for the Mobley to stay unlimited. I told her to not make any changes right now until I cool off enough to be able to think through the giant cluster-fsck of a disaster they created for me with their lies.

Moral of the story: If you sign up for the $20 Mobley plan try to make sure to keep it separate from your main phone plan with ATT to avoid future FUBAR situations.

And, ATT, you still suck. Hard. But I'm going to milk that **** $20 unlimited plan for all it's worth now. This middle finger is flying high in your direction!

I agree on the deception regarding the discounts. They changed the structure of the new plans so if there is a discount, it is on a very small portion of the unlimited plan. When my daughter replaced her phone, we had to go to the ATT store to get SIM/activate and after a pleasant 5 minutes to get that done, the rep wanted us to switch to the unlimited, as it would save us money. I said to prove it... he looked at some numbers, did some math and said it would be slightly more, but unlimited (instead of the 30GB shared we have now). The problem is, that 30GB plan is to allow me to work away from home occasionally, which is a problem since they do away with using phone as hotspot on the unlimited plans...

Connected Car appears to be a good thing but ATT can be (and often is) difficult to work with...

You're not alone, thousands have been scammed by lies re att/directv promotions... buyer beware!

Lies and deception have become the norm for all US businesses. Been that way for years.
